Job Title: Warehouse Equipment Operator Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise within the warehouse. Planer Set Up Operator

Hood Industries, Inc. is a blend of wood manufacturing and distribution concerns that include plywood and lumber manufacturing plants, and twenty-three specialty wood product distribution operations, located in fifteen states serving the northeast, southeast and southwest United States. We are looking for a Planer Setup Operator who has experience with setting up Planer machines. We operate a safe, facility and consider safety our top priority, so we are looking for a professional whose values reflect our own. Key Responsibilities: • Monitor the flow of material to and from the machine center and make adjustments as necessary to ensure production quality and quantity standards are met. • Conduct visual equipment inspections, perform basic preventive maintenance and assist maintenance and Planer Technician in troubleshooting/improving equipment. • Install knives using wrenches and gauges. Turn controls to adjust table levels, pressure boards and feed rolls according to depth of cut and thickness of stock. Starts planer and positions lumber on conveyor/inserts lumber between feed rolls that carry lumber through planer. • Repair, set-up, and adjust planer for required sizes • Operation Monitoring: Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly. • Maintain a safe and clean work area. • Properly set up the planer to maximize lumber quality. • Grease and oil the planer machine, doing light maintenance, maintaining equipment, effectively • Examine logs for defects and report any issues to Quality Control. • Perform tasks such as cleaning table, helping in other areas, etc. • Cross-trained in other areas of the mill. • Retain an awareness of the work environment critical to the task at hand to produce error free and damage free results. • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient production. • May also have additional responsibilities related to the operations of the plant as assigned. Education/Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED required. • Manufacturing experience and knowledge of manufacturing processes preferred. • Experience in operating/setting up/maintaining a planer machine preferred. • An aptitude for learning mechanical skills. • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. • Experience with inspecting lumber to ensure quality standards preferred. • Ability to troubleshoot and analyze equipment to eliminate downtime. • Experience with replacing, sharping/ joint knives is a plus. • Demonstrate basic computer skills and experience using a computer for recordkeeping and documentation. • Able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required. Physical Requirements: • Perform tasks such as walking, lifting, kneeling, climbing, pushing and/or pulling, grasping and standing for up to 12 hours per day. • Able to bend, stoop, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs. • Must be able to work in a noisy, non-temperature-controlled environment. • Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. throughout the work shift.
