CNC Machinist Operator

CNC Operator Pay: $20–$25 per hour (depending on experience) We are currently seeking a skilled and safety-focused CNC Operator to join our team. In this role, you will set up and operate CNC machines to produce precision parts and components from a variety of materials including metal, plastic, glass, and stone. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, a sharp eye for detail, and a commitment to quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: • Set up and operate CNC water jet machines based on job specifications • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to determine cutting requirements • Load and secure materials properly for cutting • Monitor machine operations to ensure precision, quality, and safe working conditions • Adjust settings (speed, pressure, feed rate) to optimize machine performance • Conduct routine machine maintenance, including inspection of nozzles, pumps, filters, and water levels • Use calipers, micrometers, and gauges to inspect finished parts and ensure they meet required tolerances • Maintain accurate production records and report any issues with equipment or output • Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety procedures and PPE standards Requirements: • Prior experience operating CNC machinery (water jet experience preferred) • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD files • Strong attention to detail and mechanical problem-solving skills • Familiarity with measuring tools and quality control procedures • Commitment to workplace safety and preventive maintenance If you're ready to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment where precision and safety matter, we encourage you to apply! One location Responsible for all activities associated with running the machine including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Monitor box quality, including, but not limited to, loose liner, warp, correct size, and print. Check anilox rolls for damage. Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed. Train and assist First and Second Helpers with job duties on the machine. Cross-train on other machines. Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to: Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data. Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs. Be proactive in the maintenance of equipment. Switch duties with First Helper as necessary. Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping. Adheres to production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality and service goals. Reports any unusual scheduling issues to Supervisor. Additional duties may be assigned by management. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or GED. Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following: Prior work experience in the corrugated industry. 6 months' experience as a Press Department First Helper. 6 months' experience in the Press and Finishing Department. LANGUAGE SKILLS Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Our Hammond, Wisconsin factory is looking for both new and experienced Machine Operators to join our team If you're new to the manufacturing industry, we offer onsite, hands-on training and all team members are eligible for multiple opportunities for growth, learning and development. Day Shift Schedule: 5:00AM - 5:00PM • 2-2-3 Schedule (2 days on Monday-Thursday; Every other Friday-Sunday off) Base Pay Rate: $19.50 hourly, plus premiums based upon the following: • 2-2-3 Schedule Premium: 10% • Extruder Machine Premium: $1.00/hr • Opportunities for additional pay increases if trained as a secondary or primary operator Responsibilities • Operate the machine; this includes start-up, changeover, shutdown and daily operation. • Observe and monitor machine for defects during operation. • Identify and correct problems on machine.
