CNC Machinist/Lead Programmer

Job Summary: The CNC Machinist/Lead Programmer produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. Details: • Full time: $26 - $32/hr • Paid holidays and vacation • Full Benefits Package Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Set up mills and lathes. • Knowledge of 5-Axis mills, mill-turns, and Swiss machines a plus. • Program parts/fixtures using CAD/CAM software (FUSION 360) a plus. • Interpret blueprints for machining processes. • Verify dimensions through all machine operations. • Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, sample parts, and materials. • General knowledge of G-Code to manipulate programs to maintain specifications by drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls. • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards. Skills and Requirements: • 5 years proven experience as CNC programmer and operator. • Trade school, apprenticeship, or degree in related field a plus. • Ability to read and edit code at controller (speed, feeds, spindle direction, etc.) • Knowledge of basic machine cutting tools • Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools • Ability to read and interpret blueprints. • Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM • Mechanical aptitude and good math skills • Good communication abilities • Attention to detail. • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. • Must possess open availability and be able to work overtime as needed. • Ability to work well with a team and have the desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for others. • Must be self-motivated and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision. Job Description Skilled Performance is seeking a manual Machinist. This individual must be able to use blueprints, sketches, CAD and manufacturing files to setup and operate equipment in order to produce complex metal parts within required tolerances and design specifications. Responsibilities: • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, schematics, engineering information, or sample parts to determine product dimensions and tolerances as well as best methods needed to fabricate parts • Will be working on building and restoring crank shafts and blocks for oilfield equipment • Utilize precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and take accurate measurements and assess dimensional integrity of parts • Produce precision parts to company specifications consistent with productivity standards of .0005" tolerance • Follow all health and safety standards, including proper PPE and following safety procedures through the disassembly and inspection process • Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as needed • Other duties as assigned, including mechanic work on various reciprocating compressor package components Requirements: • High school diploma or GED • Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment • Proficient in equipment alignment tools (both laser and manual) • at least 2 years of experience with mills and lathes • Read and write English • Basic Math functions • Must be dependable, willing to learn and teach, great attitude Hours 5am-6pm Benefits: Health, Dental.
