Job Summary: The CNC Machinist/Lead Programmer produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. Details: • Full time: $26 - $32/hr • Paid holidays and vacation • Full Benefits Package Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Set up mills and lathes. • Knowledge of 5-Axis mills, mill-turns, and Swiss machines a plus. • Program parts/fixtures using CAD/CAM software (FUSION 360) a plus. • Interpret blueprints for machining processes. • Verify dimensions through all machine operations. • Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, sample parts, and materials. • General knowledge of G-Code to manipulate programs to maintain specifications by drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls. • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards. Skills and Requirements: • 5 years proven experience as CNC programmer and operator. • Trade school, apprenticeship, or degree in related field a plus. • Ability to read and edit code at controller (speed, feeds, spindle direction, etc.) • Knowledge of basic machine cutting tools • Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools • Ability to read and interpret blueprints. • Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM • Mechanical aptitude and good math skills • Good communication abilities • Attention to detail. • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. • Must possess open availability and be able to work overtime as needed. • Ability to work well with a team and have the desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for others. • Must be self-motivated and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
