We Make Life More Rewarding and Dignified Location: Stuarts Draft Department: • Maintain machine shop equipment to include preventive maintenance repair and coordination of repair • Maintain the machine shop to 5S standards • Verify parts are made to tolerances • Utilize stockroom procedures for spare part inventory • Assist production maintenance with the peening of match metal dies • Use computerized maintenance management system to track work • Much work with appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, machine guarding, particulate mask • Coordinate the availability of materials through company procedures • Support company goals and initiatives for cost savings • Perform other duties as directed by Team Leader Essential Functions of the Role**: • Mill and turn machine parts to specifications using manual and automatic techniques • Strong skills required in conversational programming techniques for Lathe and Mills • Surface grind and OD grind parts to specification • Must be able to use calipers, micrometers and various measurement devices to verify machined parts to specification • Occasional use of shop tools such as pedestal grinders, sanders, shear, brake, band saw, table saw, sand blaster, drill press, jig saw, skill saw, Mapp or propane torch • Use of hand tools Physical Requirements of the Role: • Sufficient eyesight to read various equipment and gauges along with manual dexterity to perform various functional tests on products/materials • Ability to frequently stand, walk and sit • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds in short increments to load or unload material • Ability to push and pull up to 500 pounds with a hand truck • Ability to occasionally climb, use balance, stoop, and crouch and frequently twist • Ability to constantly reach while standing and sitting Work Experience Requirements: • Number of Overall Years Necessary: 2-5 • Previous machine shop processes in a manufacturing environment. Must be computer literate.
