About the position As a CNC Machinist at Aerotek, you will be responsible for the operation of CNC lathes and mills, ensuring the production of high-quality parts that meet specified requirements. Your primary duties will include loading and unloading materials and parts, proving programs, operating controls, setting offsets, deburring, and conducting inspections to verify that parts conform to quality standards. You will work with various machinery, including DMG Moris, Doosans, and OKUMA CNC lathes, as well as Cincinnati MAG and OKUMA Genos vertical mills. Additionally, you will utilize manual machines such as the Trak TRL lathe and Lagun mill, along with grinders and vertical bandsaws. In this role, you will need to possess strong mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra, to accurately calculate material fabrication. A solid understanding of blueprint reading and geometric tolerance interpretation is essential, as is the ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, and scales. You will also be responsible for detecting equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, making necessary adjustments to ensure quality production, and reporting any machine malfunctions to management. This position is fully on-site in Bend, Oregon, with a typical work schedule from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm, and there may be opportunities for overtime, including 10-hour days or Saturday shifts.
