Hvac Technician Responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting HVAC systems of various sizes, including interior-mounted gas furnaces, in an industrial environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Properly operate all specialized equipment required for heating and air conditioning repair, servicing, and installation. • Read and interpret drawings, sketches, and wiring diagrams for A/C and heating systems. • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in heating units, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration systems, and exhaust fans, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. • Apply correct welding, soldering, and brazing techniques for HVAC system repairs. • Utilize material handling equipment, including lifts, power trucks, hand trucks, and roof tuggers. • Perform scheduled servicing of A/C units, heating systems, and dock heaters. • Remove and replace complete heating units and A/C compressors as needed. • Document services and repairs, maintaining accurate records to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including those established by the EPA for refrigerant handling. • Following the established ordering process to maintain proper inventory of HVAC supplies and equipment. • Repair or replace electric water heaters throughout the plant. • Conduct plumbing repairs and modifications as required. • Perform weekly and monthly testing and maintenance of the fire system. • Ability to work in extreme temperatures (e.g., 15°F to 100°F) and all-weather conditions. • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Ability to lift heavy equipment and stand for extended periods.
