Job Description This technician performs field activities associated with supporting the installation, maintenance and servicing of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems for commercial customers. Duties include, but are not limited to: • Perform on-site preventative maintenance, routine repair and calibration after installation. • Handle basic, non-complex products and/or problems, referring more complex problems to higher-level technicians. • Uses experience and technical skills with preventive maintenance and system operations to determine service requirements. • Advises manager of preventive maintenance inspections performed and corrective actions to be taken. • Works in a team-based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction. • Must work in a safe manner on a daily basis and ensure that all safety measures are taken at all times. • Performs other duties as assigned. • Flexibility to work overtime, on-call and weekends, as required. Qualifications • High School diploma or GED equivalent • 2 to 6 years hands on Commercial HVAC Experience • EPA Certification- Type I & Type II or Universal Required • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record • Technical aptitude to perform maintenance, service, and troubleshoot equipment • Excellent Customer Service Skills • Good Electrical and Mechanical Diagnostic Skills • Ability to complete repairs and required paperwork • Ability to work independently and self-schedule • Self-motivated to complete assigned tasks within time constraints • Driven to succeed and able to work with minimum supervision • NATE certification a plus • Periodically 'on call' for service coverage • Travel may be required occasionally Physical Requirements: Technicians install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on commercial, rooftop HVAC units. This work is often done independently. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide routine maintenance and repair service for equipment at customers site • Performing repairs and maintenance on a variety of equipment • Maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) units for residential customers; diagnose and repair of electronic, mechanical and electrical components of these systems. • Understand company pricing and generate appropriate customer invoices, obtain customers signature at the completion of the job; process electronic credit card payments; obtain and input accurate customer contact information including address, phone number(s) and email addresses. • Accurately document all installed equipment upon arrival: make, model, serial number, necessary test measurements, and take pictures as necessary. • Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain any replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturer’s recommendations; clearly & professionally communicate to the customer what the current issues are and explain what is necessary to correct them. • Actively participate in company provided training opportunities to stay informed on current industry technologies. • Identify and report to the HVAC manager potential opportunities for additional business and maintain a set close rate. QUALIFICATIONS • Mechanical aptitude • Good customer relations and interpersonal skills • Excellent organizational and time management skills • A “self-starter” attitude and be able to accomplish tasks in a timely manner • Great oral and written communication skills • Ability to stay on task with minimal to no supervision • Responsible for the daily preparation of the parts and tools for each day’s activities • Valid Driver License • Ability to Pass a drug screen and/or background check • Ability to write and read English language • Strong ability to operate under all weather conditions • Ability to climb, stoop, balance, crouch, crawl, and/or kneel continually EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE A minimum of two (2) years' experience as an HVAC Technician and EPA Certification.

The position of HVAC Install Apprentice/Helper is to deliver exceptional HVAC installation service to the customer by completing and installing HVAC equipment and accessories and to ensure all work is performed correctly and is reflective of Hiller's values. Job Responsibilities: Assist the Lead Installation Technician with the installation of HVAC related equipment according to manufacturer's specifications. Support Lead Installer in: Installing HVAC related equipment. Installing Sheet metal duct systems. Connecting gas lines to heating equipment. Cutting and threading pipes. Wiring both line voltage and low voltage to heating equipment. Installing copper refrigerant line to air conditioning units, including soldering and brazing. Inspect area for cleanliness after job is completed. Perform other duties as assigned. Informs a manager or team leader of any safety issues. Maintain a courteous demeanor with customers and associates at all times. Maintain a professional image at all times by wearing company approved uniform. Abide by all standards of performance and ethics. Participate in company sponsored training classes. Follow all safety policies and procedures.
