HVAC Electrician

Position Purpose: The licensed Commercial HVAC Electrician will work with electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings and be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems and associated equipment. The licensed Commercial HVAC Electrician will also troubleshoot electrical problems and ensure that all work is up to code. The licensed Commercial HVAC Electrician will be a team player with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. HVAC Electrician Duties and Responsibilities: • Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical control and wiring with strong electrical theory and codes. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system. • Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace. • Responsible for special projects as requested by management and other duties/ responsibilities as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. • Ensure customer satisfaction and confidence by efficiently and effectively servicing products and equipment on assigned projects. • Keeping appropriate records by completing the necessary paperwork for each job and working with the Service Coordinator to maintain accurate and updated files. • Maintain project expenses through planned course of action • Maintain and inspects vehicles by checking vehicle condition, inventory needs, scheduling and completing repairs and routine maintenance service. HVAC Electrician Qualifications: • Electrician’s License required • 5+ years of experience electrical service and troubleshooting • Excellent problem-solving skills • Knowledge of mechanical systems • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools used in the trade. • Knowledge of building codes, electrical codes, safety regulations, and safety practices • Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to complete projects unsupervised and unassisted. • Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet auto guidelines to operate a company-owned vehicle. • Eligible to legally work in the United States. • Successfully complete a background check and drug screen. • HVAC License preferred/ not required Physical Demand Requirements • In order to properly perform the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, hear and use hands/fingers in order to grasp/handle/feel. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb up and down ladders and/or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. This position requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. • This position requires frequent working outdoors, inside mechanical/equipment rooms, regularly being exposed to extreme inside/outside weather conditions to include extreme hot and/or extreme cold. This position is regularly exposed to live voltage, moving mechanical parts, and heavy equipment. Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, elevated and/or precarious workplaces, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock and vibration. Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
