Job Responsibilities • Remove steel rivets with pneumatic tool • Tighten structural steel bolts with impact wrench • Remove existing structural steel with oxygen and acetylene torch • Drill holes in existing or new structural steel with magnetic drill • Drill holes in existing or new timber with 1/2" Electric or Hydraulic Drill • Hang Scaffolding • Work at heights while utilizing lineman equipment • Ascend and descend slopes with rough terrain • Drive spikes and drive pins with maul • Dig using hand shovel • Operate 1/2' drill and generator, impact wrench, pneumatic tools, hydraulic tools and chain saw • Use lineman gear, D-handle spade (shovel), sharp shooter (shovel), crow bar, and pry bar. POSITION SUMMARY: CherCo is seeking motivated personnel for full time Service Technicians in and around Zapata, TX. This positions will be tasked with troubleshooting, routine maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on natural gas engines and compressors. Caterpillar 3500/3600 experience preferred. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: may include any or all the following. • Perform scheduled preventive and corrective field mechanical service on gas compression units. • Always represent the Company in a professional manner and provide outstanding customer service while performing all assigned tasks. • Responsible for submitting accurate maintenance reports, expense reports, timesheets, and other necessary paperwork daily. • Inventory control – manages the supply, storage, and accessibility of parts as well as tools to ensure an adequate supply to do the work without excessive oversupply or shrinkage. • Diagnose engine/compressor failures accurately and efficiently. • Conduct timely rebuilds/overhauls of compressors, engines, and controls on gas compressor packages in the shop. • Respond to recurring problems and emergency services, as needed. • Help coordinate setting of new units and conduct start-up testing. • Other duties may include mechanical as well as electrical assignments regarding natural gas compressor systems and their appliances.
