Senior Carpentry Technician

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various carpentry tasks, including but not limited to fabrication, installation, and construction. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to read blueprints, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. The Carpenter will work on highly specialized projects in designing and constructing crates, shipping equipment boxes, skids, cross-bracing and fixtures for shipping and support of all glass-lined vessels, parts, equipment. Responsibilities • Fabricate and assemble wooden structures and fixtures according to specifications for pressure vessels, equipment, and parts. • Build frameworks and structures for various applications, ensuring stability and safety. • Perform spark test on glass-lined vessels, components and parts. • Inspect all glass lined vessels, components, and parts, prior to being shipped. • Move equipment with forklifts, overhead cranes, experience necessary. • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine project requirements. • Conduct construction estimating to assess material needs and project timelines. • Perform heavy lifting as required during installations and material handling. • Collaborate with other tradespeople and team members to ensure project completion on time. • Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols. • Work within confined spaces of pressure vessel units. Skills Ability to design and construct vessel cross-bracing and boxing for glass-lined equipment. Skilled in the use of power and manual saws, nail guns, T-squares and all tools associated with carpentry work. Ability to fit through a 12” to 16” manway opening and be able to work in confined spaces. Skilled at operating overhead cranes, forklift trucks and other material handling equipment. • Proficient in blueprint reading and understanding technical drawings. • Strong fabrication skills with the ability to build custom structures as per project specifications. • Knowledge of construction estimating practices for effective project planning. • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently. • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail. • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
