Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Framer to join our construction team, preferably with at least one year experience in the field. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in various framing techniques and construction practices. This role involves working on-site to construct and assemble frameworks for buildings, ensuring structural integrity and adherence to blueprints and specifications. The Framer will collaborate with other construction professionals to deliver high-quality results on time. Responsibilities • Construct frameworks for buildings using wood, metal studs, or other materials as specified in project plans. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to ensure accurate framing. • Perform metal building erection and concrete forming as required by project specifications. • Install rebar and carry out concrete finishing tasks to support structural elements. • Execute masonry work, including bricklaying and stone setting, as needed. • Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various carpentry tasks, including trim carpentry and frame carpentry. • Conduct heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely while adhering to safety protocols on the construction site. • Collaborate with team members on tasks such as roofing, siding installation, plastering, stucco application, and remodeling projects. • Maintain a clean and organized work environment while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Skills • Proficiency in metal stud framing and frame carpentry techniques. • Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices. • Experience with heavy equipment operation is a plus. • Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently throughout the workday. • Familiarity with restoration projects and various construction methods including woodworking, masonry, welding, and siding installation. • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of construction work. • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and other tradespeople on-site. JOB SUMMARY The Carpenter constructs and repairs structural woodworks and equipment, working from blueprints, drawings, or oral instructions ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Install structures and fixtures • Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, and other materials • Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes • Help erect, level, and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes • Build scaffolds and create and set forms for pouring concrete • Build tunnel bracing or partitions in underground passageways to control the circulation of air to worksites • Build concrete forms for tunnels, bridges, power plants, or sewer construction • Inspect, clean, maintain and repair equipment • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools needed in construction • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks • Ability to read and interpret blueprints • Ensure compliance of all safety procedures and policies while promoting company’s safety culture • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS • High School Diploma or GED required • At least 3 years’ experience as a carpenter or in civil construction SKILLS / KEY COMPETENCIES • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Exercise discretion and independent judgement when handling day to day information • Excellent time-management skills to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities to meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities • Ability to work cooperatively across all levels delivering on commitments – results oriented • Ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail • Ability to work under pressure to meet department targets and deadlines • Ability to work non-routine hours, when necessary • Ability and willingness to travel as required PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Ability to work outdoors, exposed to heat and humidity, cold and rain, and around heavy traffic areas • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another • Ability to operate job related tools • Constantly perform repeating motions that may include feet, leg, wrists, hands and/or fingers • Work that includes moving and/or lifting objects up to 50 pounds, carry at least 30 pounds and up to 150 pounds with help Bay Ltd. is an Equal Opportunity Employer
