Pay Grade: Classified Level 3 Primary Purpose: Under general supervision, assist journeyman carpenter in construction, alteration, repair, and installation of fixtures, buildings, and structures throughout the district. Maintain district structures and furniture in attractive and safe condition. Qualifications: Education/Certification: Valid Texas driver's license. Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Physically fit with good manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination and good sense of balance. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools and safety equipment. Good human relation skills and the ability to work well with others. Experience: Prior experience as apprentice carpenter is desirable. Major Responsibilities and Duties: Maintenance and Repair 1. Assist journeyman carpenter with any other work orders assigned. 2. Sweep and clean work area as instructed. 3. Organize materials as instructed. 4. Respond to emergency calls as needed. 5. Perform other duties as assigned. Safety 6. Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures. 7. Follow safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, use of electrical tools, etc. Other 8.
