Overview: A Carpenter performs basic installation of materials on a construction sites. Responsibilities: Carpenter typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following: • Install items related to job site safety and functionality including safety rails, toe boards, ramps, temporary walls, temporary enclosures, elevator protection, decks for construction trailers • Build planning tables • Hang safety signs • Cover holes or open areas that are safety hazards • Mount Smartboards and TVs in job site trailers • Hang shelving in job site trailers • Reporting all safety incidents & injuries to Foreperson and Safety Leader • Any scope of work outside of they above listed, shall be planned, documented, and approved by Foreperson, Safety & Management Qualifications: EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION • High school diploma or GED • 2+ years of carpentry experience • Or equivalent combination of education and experience • OSHA 10 hour certified recommended, (Next 150 Construction will assist with obtaining this certification if necessary) • Proof of certificates, degrees, etc. upon hire KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES • Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures • Willingness to work in high-stress environment with extreme weather fluctuations • Ability to work in a team environment Next 150 Construction Services has an unwavering focus on safety, the environment and caring about everyone involved in our work. As a journeyman carpenter, you will be responsible for the safe construction, installation, and repair of wooden structures. You will also be required to design and install wooden fixtures, furniture, and similar elements. Education and Training • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Skills and Experience • Minimum of 3 to 6 years carpeter experience as a joureyman • Must have NWSA certification • Must provide current certification as required, is a plus • Must have a valid driver’s license and driving record meeting the company policy conditions • If applicable, the ability to maintain FDOT logbooks - training will be provided • Demonstrate expertise in construction skills, rigging, safety and general industry knowledge • Job related certifications - First Aid, Safety, Rescue, Wiltron, Anritsu, Fiber, PIM, CPR and Connector attachment • Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions per prints • Must be able to read and interpret site plans, RFDS, construction drawings and SOW • Working knowledge of safety standards and regulations • Must be fit and in good physical condition • Must be able to pick up 50 lbs., and capable of working up to 12 hours • Must have a valid driver’s license and driving record meeting the company policy conditions • Organizational, communication skills Working Conditions • Must be available to work weekends and/or nights, in extreme weather conditions if necessary • Must have the ability and be willing to travel extensively, as required for job related functions • Must be able to work out of market or away from home as work demands
