You will oversee Mid-Level and Entry-Level Carpenters, as well as various Trade Specialists. In this role, leadership qualities are essential as you maintain clear and respectful communication and collaboration with team members. Working closely with the Project Manager, the Lead Carpenter directs the execution of each project according to specifications, budget, and schedule. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, involving hands-on management of diverse remodeling projects to ensure quality and cost efficiency. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the day-to-day management and execution of assigned remodeling and construction projects, overseeing subcontractors and crew members. • Serve as the on-site liaison for Upscale Remodeling Corp., advocating for client needs. • Collaborate with Design, Sales, and Production teams to ensure thorough understanding of project design, scope, and specifications. • Monitor job costs and workflow to meet or exceed quality standards, stay within budget, and adhere to scheduled timeframe. • Review project scope, details, site conditions, and client expectations comprehensively. • Facilitate communication among all relevant parties, utilizing company forms and processes. • Manage procurement, delivery, and storage of job-related materials (special-order materials are typically purchased in advance). • Delegate, assist with, and perform designated construction tasks as needed. • Coordinate, manage, and expedite the work of team members and subcontractors, assigning tasks with clear timelines and expectations. • Schedule and oversee the work of Trade Partners, ensuring adherence to project scope and quality standards. • Enforce company and industry safety guidelines for all team members and subcontractors. • Provide regular updates to clients on work progress, schedule, cleanliness, and any changes. • Address client questions and concerns promptly, aiming to respond within 24 hours and providing progress updates as needed. Leadership: • Manage and direct team members and trade partners on the jobsite. • Ensure that company standards and qualities are consistently met by team members and trade partners. • Lead, supervise, direct, mentor, and teach other team members. • Lead by example by adhering to company quality standards and practices. • Prioritize project focus while considering department needs, and remain flexible with scheduling and staffing. • Collaborate with fellow lead carpenters and Project Manager to ensure adequate coverage of jobs. Qualifications: • Minimum of eight (8) years of carpentry experience with expertise in all phases of residential remodeling and construction procedures. • Proficient in rough carpentry, including floor, deck, wall, and roof framing, as well as layout knowledge of foundations, rafters, and stairs, and structural load-path understanding. • Experienced in finish carpentry, including trim work, cabinetry installation, and interior finishes. • Must have experience leading projects and teams. • Experience managing team members and trade partners. • Familiarity with building codes and related trades, with a commitment to continuous learning to stay updated. • Strong communication skills, able to effectively interact with clients, team members, vendors, and specialty trade contractors. • Capable of both following direction and providing leadership, supervision, direction, mentoring, and teaching to other team members. • Excellent listening and comprehension abilities, along with proficiency in understanding construction drawings, scopes of work, specifications, contracts, and business correspondence. • Willingness to adapt to and embrace new technology, apps, and software relevant to the industry, such as smartphones, computers, iPads, tablets, and related applications. • Keen eye for quality and a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines. • Valid NYS driver’s license required. • Be honest, humble, levelheaded, people oriented and quality minded.
