A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CARPENTER In this position, you are the cornerstone of our construction jobs. As needed, you help complete the job which will include the following duties and responsibilities: • Complete rough carpentry work, site logistical work, fencing, deck and platform building, protection systems, construction waste areas, and jobsite cleanup • Manage an entire jobsite and project from start to finish. • Assign labor and troubleshoot unexpected issues. • Guide and give direction to laborers and other jobsite crew members. • Shape or cut materials to specified measurements • Erect scaffolding and ladders, as needed • Install structures and fixtures including but not limited to windows, doors, frames, floorings, trim, and hardware • Review jobsite needs with supervisors • Estimate, inventory, monitor, and request time, staff, materials, and equipment needed to complete work • Operate equipment as required to complete work • Assist with overall site safety and quality programs • Comply with written safety instructions from tool and equipment manufacturers • Maintain positive working relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other employees • Maintain a high-level standard of teamwork, integrity, commitment, and leadership in daily operations • Maintain manual and computerized records and reports, including clocking in / out of projects via phone app or other systems • Effectively choose supplies to minimize material costs • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned REQUIREMENTS • 3 yrs+ Carpentry experience • Basic tools • Must have a valid drivers license and the ability to travel • Must have own reliable transportation • Must be punctual • Must be willing to work with others as a team • Must be able to perform physically demanding labor such as digging holes, carrying materials, etc. • Must possess attention to detail • Ability to effectively communicate via text or phone call Salary $20 - $30 per hour
