About the position Join BNSF Railway as a member of our Construction - Structural Maintenance Bridge and Building Team, where you will contribute to the construction, inspection, and maintenance of bridges and buildings, ensuring their structural integrity and safety. This full-time position requires on-call availability, overtime, and travel to job sites for extended periods. Training will be provided through company-paid on-the-job and classroom training, including travel to the BNSF Training Center. Responsibilities • Perform construction, maintenance, and repair of railroad bridges, tunnels, culverts, and other structures. , • Repair timber bridges, trestles, and tunnel supports, and repair/replace structural steel members of bridges. , • Place and finish concrete surfaces and perform conventional carpentry work. , • Read blueprints to determine required materials and dimensions, lay out work, and mark cutting and assembly lines. , • Assemble, cut, shape materials, fasten with appropriate fasteners, rig materials for hoisting, and operate company vehicles as directed. Requirements • Able to work in the US without company sponsorship now and in the future. , • 21 years old or older. , • Must have valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), or be able to obtain one within the first 60 days of employment. , • Able to work safely in diverse and extreme weather conditions. , • Able to work safely at heights and using fall protection equipment. , • Able to meet travel requirements for job sites. , • Able to read, write, and communicate in English. , • Able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 90 pounds without assistance. Our Human Resources Department is available to assist in that process as needed. • Prior bridge construction experience and/or construction experience. • General knowledge of templates, pile driving equipment, rigging and signaling, cutting torches, welding, and drilling. • Experienced in the installation of all sizes and dimensions of piles, on or near the water, including pipe pile, H pile, and sheet piles.
