Authorization to work lawfully in the U.S. without sponsorship from Wood required • The employee must be able to perform some finish carpenter work such as frame metal stud walls, hang sheetrock, dry wall, install doors and hardware, and install paneling, suspended ceilings, toilet partitions and other related office furnishings under supervision. • In addition to being able to smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, walks, sidewalks, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools under supervision.. • Identify, recognize and demonstrate safe usage of power tools and hand tools appropriate for the job. • Select and safely use appropriate equipment which may include (but not limited to) manlifts, fork lifts, and company trucks. • Willing to learn application of various coatings including paints and varnishes. • Demonstrate ability to correctly install the following: • Doors • Door Jambs • Windows • Trim • Suspended Ceilings • Paneling • Drywall • Stairs • The employee must participate in safety meetings, safety programs and in the quality process. • The employee must clean the work area at the end of the day or at the completion of each job. • Should have some experience as a helper in the Carpentry. • Experience working inside industrial facilities is a plus. • The employee must be able to use standard and/or metric rule to measure. • Demonstrate ability to use whole numbers, fractions and decimals to add, subtract, multiply and divide and be able to accurately follow instructions. • Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. • Mathematics - Using mathematics to solve problems. • Equipment Selection - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job. • Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. • Coordination - Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions. • Installation - Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and fit test. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all carpentry tasks are completed to the highest standards. This involves working closely with blueprints and oral instructions to determine the materials required and dimensions of the structure or fixture to be fabricated. Main Responsibilities • You will select, load and haul job materials to the work site, ensuring they are properly stored and accounted for. • Preparing layouts of forms or fixtures to be fabricated using lines or grades is a critical aspect of this role. • Your task includes verifying accuracy of structures with transit, plumb bob, square and level. • You will use carpentry hand tools such as hammers, levels, squares, screwdrivers, adjustable wrenches, hand and power saws, drill motors and pry bars. • Nailing cleats (braces) across boards to construct concrete-supporting forms is another essential responsibility. • You will brace forms in place with timbers, tie rods, and anchor bolts for use in building concrete piers, footings, and walls. • Erecting framework for structures and laying sub-flooring requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Cutting and assembling timbers to build trestles and cofferdams demands precision and expertise. • You will erect scaffolding for buildings and other structures and install ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways. • Constructing forms, chutes, and aligning form panels for pouring concrete and grout requires a deep understanding of carpentry techniques. • Fitting and installing pre-fabricated window frames, doors, weather stripping interior and exterior trim and finished hardware is a critical aspect of this role. • Fitting and nailing sheathing on outer walls and roofs of buildings sets and braces anchor bolts. • Performing minor maintenance or cleaning activities with tools and equipment is also an important duty.
