Experienced Retaining Wall Builder

Overview We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various carpentry techniques and be able to work on a variety of projects, from residential renovations to commercial builds. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality craftsmanship, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Must have experience building wood and metal retaining walls. All candidates much provide their own vehicle for moving of trailers, and their own power tools and basic wood working tools. Gas money will be provided for any excess driving and pulling of trailers. Responsibilities • Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, and wallboard. • Perform frame carpentry for walls, roofs, floors, and all boathouse and retaining wall work. • Participate in restoration projects, ensuring historical accuracy and quality workmanship. • Operate CNC machinery for precision cutting and shaping of materials. • Provide maintenance person services for minor repairs and installations. • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with local building codes and safety regulations. • Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure project timelines are met. Requirements • Proven experience as a Carpenter with a strong portfolio of completed projects. • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools commonly used in carpentry. • Knowledge of frame carpentry techniques and trim carpentry practices. • Familiarity with the restoration industry is an asset. • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and technical documents accurately. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Ability to plumb structures accurately during construction phases. • Experience with metal stud framing is a plus. • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment. Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of skilled carpentry duties, including building, repairing, and installing various carpentry-related projects. Key Responsibilities: • Build, repair, and install cabinets, wall partitions, floors, ceiling systems, metal stud framing, door jambs, doors, metal window frames, insulation, drywall, door hardware, concrete forms, scaffolding, and other projects as required. • Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment. • Read blueprints to carry out assignments. • Work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction. • Maintain appropriate and safe working practices. Requirements: • Satisfactory completion of a certified 4-year trade-related apprenticeship program or equivalent experience and education. • Working knowledge of a variety of materials, equipment, methods, and tools of the Carpenter's trade, including achievement of operational level journey-level skills. • Working knowledge of Class A construction, UBC, OSHA, fire codes, construction procedures, and ADA requirements (ADA/fire hardware and installation). • Possession of a valid California Driver's License, Class C, and the ability to drive a University truck or other light vehicle in the course of performing job duties.
