POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Activities may include construct, fabricate, install and dismantle form work of fixtures of metal, wood and other accessories with the ability to read and interpret instructions and document, plan, and perform work activities independently with guidance from a classified journeyman. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Constant standing, walking, reaching, crawling, balancing, and grasping. • Frequent lifting, carrying, climbing, stooping/crouching, and kneeling. • All aspects of vision are required – acuity, depth perception, and field of vision. • Ability to talk and hear is very important for communication with supervisor and co-workers on safety and operational matters. PREFERED EXPERIENCE Preference given to candidates with 6 months to 4 years of Carpenter Helper experience at meets or exceeds performance expectations. We are looking for someone with journeyman-level experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required • Education High School Diploma or vocational school or equivalent. • Experience 3 years skilled or journeyman level experience as a carpenter in a commercial, institution or healthcare setting, knowledge of door hardware, proficiency in the use of large power tools (ex: table saw, circular saw, router, miter saw, etc.). Installs or replaces linoleum, asphalt floor tile or ceiling tile, or window glass. • Cleans, sharpens, and repairs saws, hand and power tools and equipment, oiling machines and performing preventative maintenance work. • Assists in determining and maintains time and material records for each job. • May supervise crafts trade trainees and/or maintenance workers. • Performs related duties as assigned.
