Institutional Sales Executive Job Description As an Institutional Sales Executive, you will be responsible for managing the entire sales process, from prospecting to closing deals with large enterprises. Your job will be to facilitate the closing process by bringing together key decision makers—management and technical—to drive the best solutions, the best value-engineered outcomes and the best terms available. You will be tasked with identifying potential clients and building lasting relationships with them, while also establishing a deep understanding of their business needs and objectives. Your role will require strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders. Your responsibilities • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve organizational sales targets, including weekly sales activity goals. • Maintain accountability to weekly KPIs such as calls, meetings booked, proposals issued, and pipeline progression. • Meet quarterly revenue, pipeline, and proposal metrics established by leadership. • Identify and prioritize new business opportunities through market trend analysis and competitive insights. • Build and maintain strong relationships with C-level executives and institutional decision makers. • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, engineering, estimating, project management and construction, to ensure customer satisfaction and retention. • Facilitate negotiation of complex contracts, ensuring alignment with company goals and margin requirements. • Maintain accurate CRM records, manage the full pipeline, and provide weekly revenue forecasts. • Manage and report on sales pipeline, forecasting revenue and providing regular updates to senior management. • Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices, and share knowledge with colleagues and customers. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) The Institutional Solar Sales Executive will be measured against the following KPIs: Weekly KPIs • Minimum number of outbound prospecting activities (calls, emails, outreach). • Minimum number of qualified meetings scheduled. • Active movement of opportunities through defined pipeline stages. • CRM accuracy and timely entry of all activity. Monthly KPIs • Monthly qualified pipeline growth target (e.g., $X in new opportunities added). • Monthly proposal delivery target (quantity and value). • Proposal-to-close conversion ratio. • New client acquisition or expansion within institutional accounts. • Forecast accuracy month-over-month. Quarterly KPIs • Quarterly revenue targets. • Margin performance and deal quality. • Client retention and upsell opportunities. • Strategic account penetration and expansion Keys to success • Consistently meet or exceed weekly, monthly, and quarterly targets. • Strong ability to build trust and credibility with institutional-level clients. • Ability to collaborate across internal teams to deliver accurate proposals and strong client experiences. • Effective time management and disciplined follow-through. Senior Civil Engineer

About the Company RSI is an established Design-Build firm in California’s Central Valley with a 20-year history delivering residential and commercial solar projects. As RSI continues to grow its Engineering division, we are expanding our capabilities to include civil and structural engineering services that support our solar, battery storage, and electrical infrastructure projects. We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to lead and execute the design of site civil, grading, drainage, and structural elements across a variety of renewable energy and commercial projects. This role will be instrumental in shaping RSI’s civil engineering processes, mentoring junior staff, and developing systems that support scalability and profitability. About the Role To succeed in this role, you must have strong technical expertise and leadership skills to manage engineering deliverables from concept through construction. You will collaborate with internal project managers, construction teams, and external stakeholders to produce efficient, buildable, and code-compliant designs that meet both budget and schedule requirements. Typical duties may include, but are not limited to: • Design and develop civil and structural plans for solar, battery, and electrical infrastructure projects, including site layout, grading, drainage, access roads, and foundations. • Conduct site visits, surveys, and geotechnical reviews to assess site conditions and inform design decisions. • Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, and design reports for submittal to permitting authorities. • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure multidisciplinary design integration. • Review and stamp (if licensed) construction drawings for accuracy, compliance, and constructability. • Coordinate with AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) to obtain permits and respond to plan check comments. • Develop and maintain standard design libraries, templates, and civil detail sets to increase department efficiency. • Support estimating and preconstruction teams with design input and value-engineering solutions. • Mentor junior engineers and drafters, promoting professional growth and technical excellence. • Understand Engineering business models to include estimating and build programs to support the growth of the engineering department as a company profit center. • Perform site walks to better support design systems as required. • Support construction operations with design clarifications, field modifications, and as-built reviews. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field. • 3–10 years of civil design experience in commercial, industrial, or renewable energy projects. • Strong knowledge of grading, drainage, stormwater management, erosion control, and structural design. • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD, and related design tools. • Understanding of California Building Code (CBC), CalGreen, Caltrans standards, and local permitting requirements. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with clients, agencies, and internal teams. • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and deliver on schedule. • Strong problem-solving skills and a business mindset oriented toward efficiency and constructability. • Experience working within a design-build or EPC (Engineering-Procurement-Construction) environment preferred. • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in California preferred. Supervisory Controls The Senior Civil Engineer is a key member of the RSI Engineering and Construction teams, reporting directly to the Director of Project Management. The position is primarily in-person with optional remote flexibility. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with additional hours as needed to support project milestones and deadlines. Evaluation Factors • Timely and accurate delivery of design packages. • Collaboration and communication across departments. • Ability to identify and implement cost-effective engineering solutions. • Contribution to development of department systems and standards. Pay range and compensation package Compensation will be market competitive, based on qualifications and experience, estimated between $110,000 – $160,000 annually. Additional compensation may be available for California-licensed P.E.s actively stamping plans.
