Job Description SGS as being one of the global inspections and testing company is currently looking for few full time and ad hoc work positions for one of our clients, a large Wind and Solar farms owners and operators. The position will be a contract for 1 to 3 years. We are looking for contractors in Texas and Oklahoma. The full-time inspectors will be required to work around various wind/PV farms around the specified regions. All PPE and/or tooling will be provided. The positions are as below: • Work under the supervision of the Quality Manager. • Auditing the maintenance and operational process and procedures for the Wind Farms. • Able to report and discuss Non-conformance reports (NCRs). • Able to verify corrective actions • Able to analyze audit findings to determine the root causes. • Technical inspections of the maintenance work of our people, subcontractor maintenance supplier and facilities to ensure compliance with the client standards (e.g., computer validation, MIS review, etc.) to provide a QA perspective on the issues discussed. • Technical inspections of the turbines, PV modules or batteries depending on the type of site (80 % of the time). • Technical inspection of the substation. • General inspection of the site: OM Building, warehouse, etc. • Use our check lists to make the inspections and made recommendations to improve them. • Findings reports. • Use of apps: use our webtools, and apps, to do the inspections, enter the findings in our web tools, etc. • Increase the Quality Culture of the technicians: Sharing the findings with the site teams and explaining them what the inspection finds. • Support technical quality audits of electrical power generating plants (wind and photovoltaic) according to client's standards (internal ISO and Q audits). • Non-Conformity detection and administration. • KPIs monitoring. • Enablon (software) NCR follow-through. • Support internal and external audits - combined 9001, 14001, and 45001. Qualifications • Degree/Training: Associate degree, trade school, or minimum 3-years related experience. Experience as a Wind Technician or Quality Inspector is desired. • Very good verbal and written communication skills are required - significant writing will be required. Bilingual in Spanish would be an asset. • Must have leadership traits and potential. • Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work in a team environment. • Must have basic mechanical and electrical background for supporting root cause analysis. • Capable of working at height in wind turbines and on the ground. Must be able to pass wind turbine climb and rescue training; have full range of motion; be able to maintain fitness and capability of wearing a standard fall protection harness without weight restrictions (max 265lbs.). Turbine access will be primarily for education, inspections, and auditing. • GWO BST and AST is required. Expected travel: Depending the position, they should be able to travel domestically, to and from Canada. Pay Range: USD $30 -35/hr depending on experience.
