608 Wind Service Technician Full Time/WIND Travel Techs

Position Summary: We are seeking a reliable and motivated Wind Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing wind turbines to ensure their optimal operation. This role is critical to supporting the renewable energy industry and demands a strong commitment to safety, technical skills, and the ability to work in challenging environments. This position requires 100% travel. Key Responsibilities: Turbine Maintenance, Mechanical and Access Services • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbines, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime • Replace or repair turbine components as needed • Perform tag lining, tower cleaning, confined space entry/support, LOTO, platform rigging, general maintenance/inspection and other miscellaneous duties as required by customers, facilities, and work scope Safety and Compliance • Strictly adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure personal and team safety • Conduct Job Site Analysis (JSA) and risk assessments before starting tasks • Maintain compliance with company, industry, and regulatory standards Inspections • Conduct routine inspections of turbines, towers, and equipment to identify potential issues Documentation and Reporting • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, findings, and parts used • Provide detailed reports on inspections, repairs, and performance issues to supervisors • Contribute to documentation of best practices for maintenance and repairs Team Collaboration and Training • Work closely with site supervisors and other technicians to prioritize and complete tasks • Participate in ongoing training programs to advance technical knowledge and certificafications • Share knowledge and mentor less-experienced technicians Experience, Qualifications, and Requirements: • High School diploma or equivalent is required • Must be at a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age • GWO BST required • GWO BTT preferred • NFPA 70 preferred • Experience in wind turbine maintenance or related electrical/mechanical systems • Knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems and troubleshooting Technical Skills • Proficiency with diagnostic tools, schematics, and electrical test equipment • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work on complex machinery • Familiarity with SCADA systems and turbine-specific software is preferred Work Conditions: • Field duties require indoor and outdoor work in diverse industrial environments with varying climate conditions • Interaction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors, client personnel and a wide range of stakeholders • Working in a plant and/or shop area around production machinery with extreme noise levels • Work from various levels of heights and/or confined spaces for long periods of time • Wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection (PPE) • May require working from heights at 250’ or greater • Travel to different job sites as needed, sometimes on short notice • May require shiftwork (days, evenings, nights) Physical and Mental Requirements: • Ability to lift, move, and carry objects weighing 75lbs. or greater • Must be able to walk, sit, stand, bend, reach, and climb • Must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights, including climbing tanks, ladders, scaffolding, towers, piping systems, catwalks, structural steel, and wind turbines • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking and stooping • Working extended hours and standing for extended periods of time • Work in indoor and outdoor environments in conditions of extreme heat and/or cold • Work in and near industrial hazards • Must be able to walk and climb except when performing non-field duties • Remain consistently active Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Must be able to climb and work for prolonged periods of time and work in potential extreme weather locations.
