Tool and Die Repair Technician A - 2nd Shift starting at 36.50- TIG Welding Experience Required

Position Description Are you ready to bring your advanced technical skills to the forefront and ensure top-notch quality standards? As a Die and Tooling Repair Technician, you'll play a crucial role in troubleshooting and repairing die molds, contributing directly to the success of our production process. Job Responsibilities - Collaborate closely with Operations to prepare and repair molds, ensuring they're production-ready and meet the highest standards. - Perform preventative maintenance on molds, aligning with production schedules to minimize interruptions and ensure smooth operations. - Utilize precision instruments such as gauges, calipers, and other tools to inspect molds, fixtures, and jigs, guaranteeing top quality. - Accurately track job operations, logging time in/out to ensure efficiency. - Communicate effectively with key personnel to keep everyone informed about the status of mold repairs. - Take on welding, machining and polishing tasks as needed, showcasing your versatility. - Analyze and modify tools to enhance their functionality and extend their lifespan. - Diagnose equipment issues and implement corrective actions to keep everything running smoothly. - Enter work orders into a database, ensuring accurate and timely documentation. - Embrace additional responsibilities as they arise, contributing to the team’s overall success. Job Skills Requirements - Proficient in operating machinery, including welding equipment, manual lathes and mills for die maintenance and repair. - Basic blueprint reading skills to understand and execute design specifications. - Foundational fabrication skills to support your repair and maintenance tasks. - Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with others. - Competent computer skills, particularly with Windows-based software. - Fluent in English, both written and spoken, to ensure clear communication. Education High School diploma General Education Degree Experience Requirements - High School diploma or GED. - At least 2 years of direct experience in a related field. - Experience with TIG Welding on H13 Tool Steel. - Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus. -EDM or CNC experience a plus. Physical & Environmental Requirements May be required to lift or carry products, parts, and/or other materials of various sizes and weights. (Frequently 5 – 25 pounds), (Occasionally 25 – 75 pounds), (Rarely greater than 75 pounds) Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours) Ability to stand and/or walk constantly over a full work shift (8-12 hours) Ability to use power/vibrating tools over a full work shift (8-12 hours) Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours) Exposure to noise levels for which hearing protection is required to be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours) Briggs & Stratton, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, provides innovative products and diverse power solutions to help people get work done.
