Position Summary The MIG/TIG Welder will join, fabricate, and repair aluminum and stainless-steel parts by using specialized gas metal arc welding techniques and equipment. Duties and Responsibilities • Join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable materials by applying appropriate MIG/TIG welding techniques. • Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, and schematics to determine the appropriate welding process. • Manufacture fixtures and prepare welding set up per safety guidelines. • Interprets mechanical drawings including weld requirement symbology. • Works with conventional and precision measuring instruments. • Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness. • Finish product through use of various manual and power grinding tools. • Performs routine maintenance on grinding equipment. • Produces products in allotted time frame/ delivery standard. • Ability to pass required welding certification tests. • Work with department computers entering data. • Support the safety and quality programs by following all accompanying rules and established processes. • Other duties as assigned Shift 2nd Shift - Overtime availability is subject to production schedule. • Monday - 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM • Tuesday - 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM • Wednesday - 4:00 PM to 2:30A M • Thursday - 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM • Friday - As Needed Skills And Qualifications • Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints. • Ability to TIG weld stainless-steel and aluminum materials. • Ability to use a variety of hand tools such as hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, grinders, and bander. • Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measure, box caliper, slide dial caliper, and micrometer. • Ability to convert fractions to decimals and vice versa. • Ability to convert metric to English. • Provide high-quality work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position. • Speak, write and comprehend conversational English. • Strong attention to detail. • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred). • Must pass weld test certification. • Robotic welding experience is a plus. • Relevant apprenticeship, experience, or vocational training is preferred.
