Each job must be performed with safety, quality and accuracy in a timely manner. JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): • Create quality welds and fit-up’s according to drawing issued. • Inspect welds and fits for accuracy. • Prepare product to be welded by shearing, bending, rolling, punching, grinding, drilling, tapping and cutting. • Change out all consumables as needed. • Responsible for proper packing, identifying and moving of all unfinished and finished products to the proper location. • Ensure all equipment and product is properly set-up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use. • Ability to operate forklift. • Preform first piece inspection as well as all subsequent inspection as required. • Maintain equipment and request maintenance when require. • Perform simple maintenance and repair as required. • Required to have proper and accurate entry into the time and attendance system. • The ability to adhere to all safety and quality practices and principles. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Thorough knowledge of the standard tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of the trades commensurate to assigned duties. • Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the welding and fitting trades. • Considerable knowledge of the properties of ferrous and non-ferrous metals encountered in welding/ fitting tasks. • Ability to work with supervisor, co-workers, subordinate journeymen and helpers. • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with personnel of other departments. • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and to work from sketches, diagrams, blueprints, and broken parts. • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing. • Skill in the use and care of tools and equipment used on work assignments. • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
