Structural Welder Job Description: The Structural Welder is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and fabrication of structural steel components and systems to ensure the smooth operation of production equipment within the steel mill. Daily tasks, Roles, Duties and Responsibilities: The daily tasks, roles, and responsibilities of the Structural Welder include but are not limited to the following: Equipment Installation & Maintenance: • Install, align, and assemble structural steel components, including beams, columns, braces, and platforms. • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to identify and address structural issues. • Perform mechanical repairs, part replacements, and system adjustments to restore equipment functionality. • Utilize precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and levels to ensure accurate fabrication and alignment. • Disassemble and reassemble steel structures for major repairs and overhauls. Troubleshooting & Repairs: • Diagnose structural issues using testing equipment and technical expertise. • Identify root causes of structural failures and implement effective solutions. • Repair and reinforce weakened steel structures to minimize safety risks and downtime. • Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication as needed for installations, repairs, and modifications. Compliance & Quality Control: • Ensure all welding and installations adhere to company and industry safety standards. • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and repair details. • Comply with regulatory requirements and follow established welding procedures.
