The company supports many commercial airlines, repair stations, and OEMs. Job Profile The company is seeking a Grinder who will be responsible for machines to report any problems to Management. Use and be able to read micrometers, c-micrometers, and bore gauges. Be familiar with the company computer system. Educational Qualification • The applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED Work Experience • The candidates should have 3 months to 2 years of related work experience. • Prior work experience in machine grinding is helpful but not required. Duties/Responsibilities • Comply with company rules and the dress code. • Grind parts to the specifications called for on “Travelers”. • Have knowledge and understanding of Appendix A. Safety Procedures. • Have knowledge and understanding of the Control of Non-conforming products. • Have knowledge and understanding of the ISO Procedures that apply to your specific machine(s). • Have knowledge and understanding of the ISO Quality Policy. • Keep your assigned area and machine clean. • Know and understand the dust recovery system and associated safety rules, and the potential exposures to grinding dust and dressing rock dust. • Learn and understand the proper operation of your machine, reporting any problems to Management. • Learn the proper use of the dot welding machine. • Learn to indicate or “zero” parts on machines. • Properly lubricate grinding equipment. • Use a power hand tool to grind or buff parts. • Use and be able to read micrometers, c-micrometers, and bore gauges. • Use proper hearing, eye, and foot protection as required. Required Training • Drug and Alcohol Awareness Training • Have an understanding of how to look up MSDS on any chemical they may come in contact with. • Have knowledge and understanding of all safety procedures applicable to the job or jobs being performed. • Have knowledge and understanding of SFAR/88 Related operating rules • Have knowledge and understanding of Suspected Unapproved Parts • Have knowledge and understanding of the Control of Non-conforming products. • Have knowledge and understanding of the Control of Non-conforming products. • Have knowledge and understanding of the Domestic repair station and quality manual. • Have knowledge and understanding of the ISO Procedures that apply to your specific area(s). • Have knowledge and understanding of the ISO Quality Policy. • Initial and Annual training for RCRA Hazardous Waste Management/40CFR 265.16 • Learn ACI’s grinding procedures (see ACI training software for complete grinding procedures (Training outline HR003 and or training plan for specific details), also see OJT training form TR002 • Learn all aspects of grinding (OJT) • New Employee Orientation (Checklist) • New Employee Safety Training (Checklist) • Specified training for Probationary Employees (OJT) Skills/Knowledge/Abilities • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. • Able to read blueprints. • Basic computer software skills. • Knowledge of the use of measuring devices (micrometers, c-micrometers, bore gauges, etc.) • Must speak, read and write the English language. Physical Demands • Lift heavy grinding rocks (50-90 lbs.) • Lift heavy part chucks (50-100 lbs.) • Lift heavy parts (50-80 lbs.) • Most of the heavy lifting occurs in the O.D.
