Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Pipe Welder to join our fabrication and construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for welding pipe systems in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and industry standards. This role requires precision, mechanical aptitude, and experience working on construction sites or manufacturing environments. The Pipe Welder will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity and safety of piping systems used in various projects, including ductwork, mechanical installations, and structural fabrications. Responsibilities • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding specifications and procedures. • Perform MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), FCAW welding, and other welding techniques to join pipes and sheet metal components. • Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to ensure precise fit-up and alignment. • Operate fabrication equipment such as plasma cutters, press brake machines, and rigging tools for cutting, shaping, and assembling pipe components. • Execute pipe threading, assembly, and installation tasks following ASME codes & standards. • Maintain a clean work environment by inspecting welds for quality and adhering to safety protocols on construction sites or manufacturing facilities. • Assist with fabrication tasks involving ductwork, sheet metal, and mechanical assemblies as needed. • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high-quality workmanship. Qualifications • Proven experience in construction site welding or manufacturing environments with a focus on pipe systems. • Proficiency in stick welding, TIG welding, FCAW processes, and Dallas / Fort Wort, Texas. • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, schematics, and technical drawings accurately. • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment including cranes and forklifts. • Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes such as plasma cutting, machining, soldering, and assembly. • Experience with pipe threading and working with ductwork or sheet metal is preferred. • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations essential for precise fabrication work. • Knowledge of ASME codes & standards applicable to piping systems is highly desirable. • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE: Under ongoing supervision, the Fitter-Welder fits elbows and welds, cleans and grinds fabricated products. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists in the departmental housekeeping and safety efforts and works collaboratively with other members of the department and production counterparts to ensure production workflow. WORK HOURS / SHIFT • Work hours vary or change from eight to twelve hours shifts based on operational needs. • Must be able to work on Saturdays and overtime as required.
