The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding and fabrication, with the ability to read blueprints and work effectively with various power tools. This role requires attention to detail and mechanical knowledge to ensure high-quality workmanship in a construction site environment. All applicants must successfully complete an on-site welding test at our facility. Tests can be taken Monday - Friday 8:30 AM -3:00 PM Test Requirements: • Bring your own PPE (welding helmet, gloves, safety glasses, etc.) • Wear appropriate work clothing (long sleeves, long pants, work boots). Duties • Interpret and read blueprints, and technical drawings to determine project specifications. • Utilize power tools and welding equipment, including stick welding techniques, to fabricate metal components. • Operate cranes and rigging equipment safely to move heavy materials as needed during the fabrication process. • Perform precise measurements using calipers and other measuring tools to ensure accuracy in fabrication. • Assemble metal structures and components according to specifications while maintaining quality standards. • Conduct routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance. • Collaborate with team members on construction sites to complete projects efficiently and safely. Qualifications • Proven experience in welding and fabrication, preferably in a construction site setting. • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise. • Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding technical documentation. • Experience with various power tools, welding techniques, and safety practices. • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. • Familiarity with soldering techniques is a plus but not required. We currently have a track plasma cutter. CNC plasma experience is a plus. • We work mostly with stainless but do occasionally have some mild steel, aluminum, bronze, Delrin and fiberglass tubes. • Must be somewhat mechanically inclined and able to maintain the machines within the department. • Must be able to lift 50 pounds. • Utilize various tools including calipers and power tools for precise measurements and fabrication tasks. • Conduct regular inspections of finished products to ensure adherence to specifications. • Maintain accurate records of production activities, materials used, and inventory levels. • Promote a culture of safety within the team by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular safety training.
