Duties and responsibilities Responsible for the layout, assembly, installation and repair of various types of piping systems. Installs these systems according to specifications and appropriate trade and building codes. These systems may consist of pipes, fittings, piping systems, fixtures and equipment for heating, cooling gas, steam, lubricating, sprinkling and industrial processing systems. See More Details >>SUMMARY Create and repair metal products through the MIG welding process and effective utilization of other fabrication tools. Expected to always operate in a safe manner; that includes operating equipment, operating to avoid material damage, and situational awareness to what is going on around workstation. Responsible for a quality product that is produced expediently. All work will be self-inspected and go through lead inspection as well as QA inspection for compliance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following: • Read blueprints and drawings to ensure proper layout and configuration • Follow appropriate weld procedure according to the drawings as needed per joint • Prepare components for fit up/assembly according to drawing & specifications (e.g. bevel, drill holes, miter) • Operate angle grinders, magnetic drills, handheld plasma, oxy torch to prepare the parts that must be welded • Align components in the jig using calipers, tape measure, level, etc. and clamp pieces into jig for fit up • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical & horizontal) • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety • Perform all duties in compliance with regulatory requirements as well as company policies and procedures SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
