Solar Energy Project Lead Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Solar Energy Project Lead to oversee the management of solar energy projects from initial diligence to project closing and funding. This role will involve leading client-facing project management processes, interfacing with clients, partners, and legal teams to support project closing and funding. Senior Project Manager, Solar Financing, South Bend, IN

POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for 1) managing the solar financing group’s client-facing project management processes including tracking, maintaining, and interfacing with solar clients, partners, and legal teams to support the closing and funding of the Bank’s solar energy projects, 2) managing solar group’s overall diligence and documentation processes including internal and external progress reporting and client-facing closing checklist call management and 3) contributing significantly and working closely with the Solar Division Head and team in the project closing function including diligence, third-party report analysis, client interaction/management, document negotiation, and loan operations processes. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Serves as a trusted closing operations team member and plays a major role in the overall business decision process in the internal/external operations function Operations Collaborates with the Solar team to act as the project manager of the closing phase for all aspects of solar projects including facilitation of project kick off and closing checklist calls, close collaboration with third-party legal team throughout, project due diligence, client discussions, document negotiation, third-party report review and analysis and internal presentation. Collaborates with clients to drive the collection and verification of required documents leading to project closing, incorporating detailed questions/answers to cover the conditions precedent to closing and funding milestones. Proactively coordinates directly with clients and with outside consultants to obtain and verify required due diligence and documentation items. Develops, maintains, and presents project management status updates for internal analysis, budget planning, and internal presentations. Responsible for the forecasting, tracking, and presenting of the closing phase of the Bank’s solar portfolio, in conjunction with Solar team members who manage the sales and portfolio operations phases. Prepares or assists the Solar Team Leader in the preparation of internal and external presentation materials and presents to stakeholders such as Board members, executive leadership, internal teams, clients, third-parties, etc. Contributes significantly as a part of closing process including client-facing closing checklist calls, creating and updating transaction documentation for funding, resolving issues, and tracking milestones. Serves as liaison to internal stakeholders, such as accounting and loan operations teams, to communicate closing-related actions. Performs additional responsibilities as requested, including special nonrecurring projects for the Solar Division Head. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential requirement of the position. Responsible for the completion of all compliance training related to this position as well as other recommended banking-related education opportunities. Understands all applicable laws and regulations that apply to the position and complies with the requirements. NON-ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Performs all other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE/SKILLS • Five (5) or more years of related experience required. • Three (3) or more years of project management experience required. • Proficiency in topics of project management, solar project documentation, corporate finance, and real estate/title work required. • Experience directing client-facing interaction to facilitate and close projects including interacting, consulting, and discussing topics with multiple stakeholders and with clients. • Prior financial banking and prior legal/document-related experience preferred. • Understanding of energy project finance deal structures and terminology preferred. • Prior energy finance project execution experience preferred. Excellent PC skills • -proficiency in Word and Excel essential, understanding of PowerPoint and database software preferred. • Excellent math and analytical skills. • Ability to work under pressure and drive completion of projects to meet deadlines. • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. • Ability to drive multiple tasks to completion in a fast-paced environment within a fast growing start-up line of business. • Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. EDUCATION Bachelor’s Degree required.
