About the position Responsibilities • Perform skilled mechanical maintenance work in the repair, installation, and alteration of plumbing systems and related equipment. • Design, troubleshoot, install, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures of all types, including those associated with commercial food cooking equipment, steam boilers, and HVAC systems. • Inspect, repair, and install backflow prevention devices and maintain plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, and water heaters. • Assist other trades as necessary to meet operational needs and participate in after-hours and weekend emergency duty programs. • Instruct or lead skilled and semi-skilled assistants and promote a customer service environment. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years performing journey-level plumbing tasks. • Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program or equivalent documented training and work experience. • Experience in designing, troubleshooting, installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing fixtures, including backflow systems and reclaimed water. • Currently carrying a CA Backflow certification or the ability to obtain one within six months of employment. General Service Engineer (Carpenter, Plumber, Mechanical) - ROCKFORD, IL

Job Description Job Description This role is responsible for performing all levels of repairs and maintenance to a variety of carpentry, plumbing and mechanical equipment. Working knowledge of carpentry supporting the interior and exterior of the store including structural building concepts, drywall finishes, drop ceilings, FRP and general repairs to fixtures, overhead, impact and metal doors, and understanding of dock levelers and dock pads. Strong ability to perform general plumbing maintenance, including setting fixtures, installing replacements and making repairs to toilets, urinals, sinks and faucets. Knowledge of hot water heater applications, recirculation pumps, repair to PVC, copper lines, sanitary and drain lines. Responsible for flooring repairs including VCT, Quarry, LVT, carpet squares, porcelain, epoxy and concrete. Working knowledge of low voltage electric, mechanical concepts to make repairs to prep equipment and generalized maintenance requests. Completing accurate service tickets, providing receipts and reporting daily time within Verisae, our work order management system, Google and utilizing a Chrome book is required. This is a full time position with benefits including vacation, sick days, personal time, 401K and health insurance. On the job training will be provided. Minimum Requirements • 2 years technical school, 5 years' experience or equivalent of both Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities • Must be flexible to work on-call and be willing to take after hours emergency overtime calls as needed • Have strong analytical problem solving skills • Effectively handle all code violations and ensure all corrections are made in accordance with Food Safety and other regulatory requirements • The ability to work independently, communicating with management and store teams • The ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds and work off ladders • Abide by safe work practices and policies established by the Company Additional Requirements - Internal Candidates: • Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred. • Store Support Center Teammates:minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred. • Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline). • If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.
