Job Title: Journeyman Plumber Location: Merced Job Type: Full-Time Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and skilled Journeyman Plumber to join our team. As a Journeyman Plumber, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems in both residential and commercial settings. You will work independently or as part of a team to ensure that plumbing systems are installed and functioning properly, while adhering to all safety standards and local building codes. Key Responsibilities: • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and fittings, in residential and commercial properties. • Collaborate with project managers and other contractors to ensure timely • completion of projects. • Diagnose plumbing issues and provide timely, efficient solutions. • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems. • Ensure all installations and repairs comply with local plumbing codes and regulations. • Install and maintain water heaters, pumps, and other plumbing-related appliances. • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on plumbing systems to prevent future issues. • Troubleshoot plumbing problems and offer cost-effective solutions. • Use a variety of tools and equipment, including hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments. • Communicate effectively with clients, providing excellent customer service and ensuring satisfaction. • Maintain accurate records of work completed, including materials used, labor hours, and any special requests or issues encountered. • Assist in the training and development of apprentices and junior plumbers. • Follow all safety protocols and ensure a clean and safe work environment. • Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in good working order. • Can operate excavator, scissor lift, trencher, etc. Qualifications • Proven experience as a Journeyman Plumber (typically 5 years minimum of experience). • Preferred experience in in multi family plumbing • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and installation techniques. • Familiarity with local plumbing codes and regulations. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Strong communication and customer service skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. • Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in challenging conditions (e.g., confined spaces, heights). Preferred Qualifications: • Additional certifications in specialized areas (e.g., backflow prevention, gas systems). • Experience with commercial plumbing systems. • Proficiency with advanced plumbing technology and tools.
