Plumbing Technician

We are looking for a Plumbing Technician who will have the opportunity to diagnose plumbing problems, determine the best course of action for repair, write estimates, and perform the necessary repairs/installations. This position will report to the Branch Manager and collaborate with Project Supervisors and Lead Plumbers for continuous training and guidance on complex projects to ensure that plumbing systems are integrated correctly into the overall housing structure. ESSENTIAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE: Within the first 30 days and ongoing: ● Takes the time to familiarize themselves with RotoCo, LLC and Roto-Rooter’s service history. Learns the core services and how RotoCo, LLC differentiates itself from competitors. ● Shows a basic understanding and knowledge of plumbing, drains, and water cleanup 101 level and has become familiar with the services that RotoCo, LLC provides and the current prices. ● By 30 days, is assigned a RotoCo, LLC company van and adheres to the maintenance protocols and driving requirements set forth during the plumbing technician training. 3 months and ongoing: ● Demonstrates an ability to effectively diagnose customer issues without customer complaints and keeps a clean customer service history. ● Meets the goals set by the Branch Manager for impeccable customer service ratings and a close rating of 70% or higher. ● Independently creates estimates at job sites and communicates questions to the Project supervisor before presenting them to the customer. 6 months and ongoing: ● Resolves issues for 90% of closed jobs the same day as dispatch and communicates with the Project Supervisor in the event that extra time is needed. ● Maintains a clean driving record and keeps the vehicle up to date for scheduled maintenance. Scheduled maintenance is performed within 48 hours of notification to do so. ● Attends quarterly meetings with the Branch Manager to discuss promotion and the requirements to move into the next level of a plumbing technician. Comfortable with more complex plumbing issues, consistently high customer ratings, and able to hit over 75% close rate on jobs. 12 months and ongoing: ● Shows updated knowledge of pricing in ServiceTitan (as it frequently changes) to create estimates for customers for plumbing, drains, and water cleanup services and repairs. ● Shows a strong ability to independently and accurately diagnose and close high-cost jobs within the parameters of their level of Plumbing technician role. ● Meets with the Branch Manager to identify an Apprentice or newly hired Plumbing Technician to partner with and develop through training and coaching. EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE: ✔ 1+ year experience in the service and repair industry highly preferred, drain cleaning experience (jetter tool, water heaters, toilets pumps) preferred ✔ Experience with field service management software, ServiceTitan preferred ✔ Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record a must ✔ Able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen required ✔ Ability to work weekends and (1) on-call night shift per week required ✔ Able to lift up to 60lbs a must Age Requirements: • Must be at least 24 years old • Must meet our insurance carrier insurable requirements WHO WE ARE: With nearly 50 years of providing dependable and best-in-class residential plumbing services, RotoCo, LLC is an industry icon. What You Will Do All Lowe’s associates deliver quality customer service while maintaining a store that is clean, safe, and stocked with the products our customers need. As a Sales Floor Department Supervisor, this means: • Providing resources and tools to support those directly helping customers provide the best service. • Assisting with down stocking and area recovery as well as providing input into merchandising decisions. • Monitoring use of store power equipment and coaching employees on safe behaviors and lifting techniques.
