Lead Plumbing Craftsman

Overview: POSITION TITLE Lead Plumbing Craftsman WORKING TITLE Lead Plumbing Craftsman SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT Maintenance and Operations (M&O) LOCATION Rock Quarry Road (Building B), Raleigh, NC PAY GRADE Noncertified Grade 26 FLSA STATUS Nonexempt WORK WEEK SCHEDULE Monday-Friday (Evening and weekend requirements on a rotational basis). This position is not available for Hybrid Telework. POSITION PURPOSE: As a Lead Plumbing Craftsman, you will play a crucial role in the installation, inspection, and maintenance of plumbing systems, equipment, materials, and fixtures. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Considerable knowledge of plumbing systems, equipment, and fixtures. • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel; Google Apps. • Understanding of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. • Proficiency in arithmetic calculations. • Skilled in troubleshooting and performing maintenance on plumbing systems. • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, using various methods to facilitate effective interactions. • Adept at building and maintaining positive working relationships with staff, contractors, vendors, and external agencies. EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Five years of relevant experience in plumbing systems installation and repair. CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: • Must complete OSHA safety training within twelve months of employment. • Valid motor vehicle operator's license according to State of NC requirements. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Associate's degree or technical school training in plumbing systems. • Possession of a valid Class 1 Plumbing License from the North Carolina Board of Plumbing Examiners. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Carry out master craftsman level work on plumbing systems, materials, equipment, and fixtures. • Respond promptly to work orders related to plumbing systems; troubleshoot issues and implement solutions. • Replace faulty plumbing equipment and systems as needed. • Maintain accurate records, work logs, and reports as required. • Comply with Wake County Public School System's safety procedures and policies. • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety and occupational health standards. • Perform other related duties as assigned. WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This role operates in an indoor environment and may involve using office equipment and hand/power tools. The position requires physical exertion, as it may involve lifting up to 75 pounds and operating automotive equipment. Expect frequent exposure to hazardous materials, gases, and chemicals, as well as varying weather conditions. Southern Mechanical- Plumbing Superintendent (MULTI-FAMILY) Job description We are looking for an experienced Plumbing Superintendent to manage the operations of multi-family projects. The ideal candidate will be able to manage all daily aspects needed on site to keep the project running on time and on budget and help solve problems as they arise.
