Job Summary: The Plumbing/Piping Takeoff Specialist plays a critical role in the preconstruction process by providing accurate material and labor takeoffs for plumbing and piping systems. This position works closely with project managers, estimators, the plumbing manager, and field teams to ensure scope clarity, efficient planning, and seamless coordination. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically skilled, and thrives in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment. Key Responsibilities: • Review and interpret construction plans and specifications for plumbing and mechanical piping systems. • Prepare detailed and accurate material and labor takeoffs to support estimating and project planning. • Collaborate with estimators, project managers, and field personnel to ensure scope alignment and material needs are met. • Identify required materials, fixtures, and equipment based on project documents and coordinate with vendors for pricing and availability. • Maintain organized digital records of takeoffs, estimates, and plan revisions. • Assist in developing and tracking budgets, proposals, and bid submissions. • Support field teams by providing timely and accurate takeoff data and updates. • Participate in project handoff and pre-construction meetings to ensure smooth transition from estimating to execution. • Track plumbing bid dates on the bidding calendar or assist the lead estimator in ensuring deadlines are met for timely takeoff completion. Qualifications • Minimum 2 years of experience in plumbing or a piping related trade. • High School Diploma or GED. • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). • Experience with Bluebeam and Trimble Autobid preferred, but not required. • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks under tight deadlines. • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
