Job Description Perform manual, skilled, and unskilled labor in the cleaning, maintenance and repair of grounds and facilities at and around City parks/facilities and on or adjacent to public rights-of-way. Performs general construction, maintenance, and repairs to a wide array of City buildings and infrastructure. This position requires applicants to be 16 years of age or older. The job requires working knowledge of construction and landscape techniques and general cleaning and janitorial methods. The job requires the ability to utilize hand and power tools in a safe manner. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Performs basic irrigation system repairs, including: digging up & replacing sprinkler heads & valves, and troubleshooting irrigation time clocks. • Inspects sprinkler heads for proper operation, and makes adjustments as needed. • Assists with installation of new irrigation systems and retrofitting old systems. • Daily reporting of assigned job completion status to supervisor. • Responsible for driving a City vehicles and trailers, as well as loading & transport of large area City maintenance equipment to various park & beautification area and construction sites throughout the City, as assigned. • Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time.
