< Back Fitter Fabricator Apply Now (Springfield, MO), (Joplin, MO), (Fort Myers, FL) Job Type Full Time About The Role • Fabricate, assemble, and weld structural steel components. • Read and interpret shop drawings and specifications to understand the requirements of a project. • Cutting and shaping metal components using various tools and equipment (saws, shears, plasma cutters, and bending machines). • Welding metal parts together using MIG welding. • Assembling fabricated metal parts into larger structures or machinery according to provided specifications. • Inspecting finished products to ensure they meet quality standards, dimensions, and tolerances. • Conducting repairs or modifications on metal structures or components as needed. • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and regulations. • Collaborating with other team members to troubleshoot issues and optimize fabrication processes. Requirements • Previous experience in metal fabrication, welding, or a similar role. • Proficiency in metal fabrication techniques such as cutting, bending, welding, and soldering is essential. Familiarity with various tools and equipment used in metalworking (saws, drills, etc.) • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications is crucial for understanding project requirements and executing fabrication tasks accurately. • Have welding certification such as AWS (American Welding Society) certification or equivalent or be able to pass and get this certification. • Fitter Fabricators need to pay close attention to detail to ensure that fabricated components meet precise specifications and quality standards. • Ability to troubleshoot issues that arise during fabrication processes and find practical solutions to overcome challenges. • The job may involve lifting heavy materials, standing for extended periods, and working in various positions, so physical strength and stamina are important. • Knowledge of safety procedures and practices related to metal fabrication, including proper handling of equipment, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). You will need steel-toe boots and a welding hood. • Commitment to producing high-quality work and ensuring that fabricated components meet specified standards and tolerances.
