Job Description • Hourly wage will depend on years and level of experience. We are looking for a reliable pipefitter installing and maintaining piping systems on industrial properties. The individual will need to take direction well from the site foreman and crew leads. Responsibilities may include: • Inspecting the workplace, clearing obstructions and preparing materials and equipment. • Studying blueprints and planning pipe systems and related equipment installations. • Using a variety of tools to modify pipes to specifications. • Measuring and marking pipes for cutting and threading. • Assembling and welding pipe components and systems. • Securing pipes to walls and fixtures with brackets, clamps, and welding equipment. • Ordering required materials such as pipes, hangars, brackets, hydraulic cylinders, etc. • Repairing and maintaining pipe systems, supports, and related equipment. • Clearing pipe systems of obstructions and testing their functionality. • Complying with relevant codes and regulatory standards. Employment Requirements: • Excellent mechanical and troubleshooting skills. • Ability to prioritize and maintain strong attention to detail. • Good communication and managerial skills. • Physical dexterity. • Proficient in Steel and Copper. • Must have your own tools. The layout and install of above ground mechanical piping and supports. Experience in the installation of ductile iron, PVC and C900 pipe and fittings. • Must have experience in layout of above and underground piping systems, Installing pumps and mechanical systems. • Grade Checking and use of standard pipe lasers, use of GPS modeling equipment, and level & grade rod for calculating elevations and slopes are among the list of tasks that each crew member must perform. Qualifications: • Able to read and understand construction drawings and specifications • Able to create a safe working environment, and understands OSHA regulations • Ability to take off and communicate tool and material requirements to the supervisor • Must have experience setting mechanical equipment including boilers, pumps, expansion tanks, dirt/air separators, and heat exchanges • Ability to set up and perform piping tests • Must have reliable transportation to jobsite. • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work well with others • Ability to identify potential issues during installation and elevate them to Foreman/Gen Foreman • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
