Basic Function HF Sinclair located in Artesia, NM is seeking a #1 Pipefitter. (The Company reserves the right to hire a #2 in the event that a #1 is not available) The schedule is Monday thru Friday. Overtime as well as weekend on-call rotation is required. Job Duties Candidates must have a strong background in piping fabrication and installations gained either through work experience or technical school training. Experienced with the maintenance, repair, and new installations of both welded piping and screwed piping. Must have a strong background and understanding of refinery maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of gate, globe, and check valves. The successful candidate will be trained on asbestos abatement and will be part of the candidates duties. Experience A minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience is required. Education Level High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Required Skills Good verbal/written communication, computer literate, good mathematical & problem solving skills, ability to read & interpret various instructions, procedures, rules, and regulations. Must have the ability to enter manways on towers, work in high places, and around high temperatures. Perform work of consistent quality and visual acuity (including color, depth perception, and field of vision). Team player, self starter, independent worker, good time management and analytical skills and priority setting ability. Work Conditions Field based. Austin Industrial is currently seeking a Pipefitter to join our staff located at Artesia, NM. They must have experience working in the oil and gas industry laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. These systems support steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production processes. Other duties may be assigned. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Cut, thread, and hammer pipe using saws, torches, and threaders Attach pipes to structures using brackets, clamps, or welding tools Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading Plan and install pipe systems per specifications Maintain and modify pipe systems and related equipment Install automatic controls and shut-off valves Inspect work sites and ensure structural integrity Operate pumps to remove water from flooded areas Perform other duties as assigned Physical Demands : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
