MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST PLUMBER

Receive 17% Weekday Nights, 26% Weekend Nights and 15% Weekend Day shift differentials Minimum Offer $ 26.22/hr. Maximum Offer $ 39.33/hr. Department: Plant Operations & Maintenance FTE: 1.00 Full Time Shift: Rotating Position Summary: Perform repair, maintenance, and installation of all piping systems to include cooling/heating lines & related components as well as steam lines and related equipment. Maintain compliance with national and state plumbing codes and accrediting agencies such as TJC, NFPA, and administration guidelines. Ensure a safe and uninterrupted service to patients and all staff members. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment. Detailed responsibilities: • PLUMBING - Inspect, install, repair, and maintain all pipes to include cooling/heating lines & related components as well as steam lines and related equipment • PLUMBING - Repairs any malfunction or discrepancy to supervisor • PLUMBING - Perform welding, brazing, and cutting • PLUMBING - Install new piping to include cooling/heating lines & related heating lines & related components as well as steam lines and related equipment or plumbing related equipment as needed or scheduled • PLUMBING - Repair or replace plumbing related equipment or piping to include cooling/heating lines & related components as well as steam lines and related equipment as needed or scheduled • PLUMBING - Maintain all waste and vent lines in compliance to national and state plumbing codes and governing agencies such as TJC and NFPA • RECORDS - Maintain all compliance records • MAINTENANCE - Report any repairs or maintenance needed throughout the building or grounds dealing with area of specialization or outside area of specialization • TOOLS - Responsible for all hospital owned tools; ensure tools are in safe operating condition; report any unsafe tools needing repair to the supervisor • ENVIRONMENT - Maintain and clean tools and shop area; maintain shop area in operational condition • MAINTENANCE - Assist other maintenance departments as required by supervisor • TRAINING - Participate in cross-training programs that will help carry out duties throughout the department • REPORTING - Keep supervisor informed of his/her location at all times Qualifications Related Education and Experience may be substituted for one another on a year for year basis. Education: Essential: • High School or GED Equivalent Experience: Essential: 3 years directly related experience Nonessential: No preferred experience Credentials: Essential: • Med Gas Certificate within 1 year of employment • Journeyman Plumber License in New Mexico • Valid New Mexico Driver's License • UNM Vehicle Operator's Permit w/in 60 days Physical Conditions: Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
