Construction Technician / Laborer

CONSTRUCTION TECHNICIAN Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00am-5:00pm Additional overtime as needed After hours and On-Call Rotation for weekends (if needed) Job Description: The purpose of the Construction Technician is to provide excellent customer service in the installation, service, repair and maintenance of all petroleum equipment. Goals and Objectives: • To meet and exceed customer expectations in construction jobs, projects, petroleum equipment repair and maintenance. • To follow all safety guidelines set forth by the company. • To work and communicate closely with Service Dispatchers and Project Managers to fulfill customer and project needs in a timely, effective and efficient manner. • To have excellent customer service skills. Duties and Responsibilities: • Responsible for construction tasks and projects including fuel equipment removal/installation, spill buckets, sump repairs, fuel motor removal/installation, concrete work, excavation, canopy, lighting, etc. • Assist to maintain and repair various types of petroleum equipment including dispensers, tank monitors, fuel management systems, etc. • Install electronic and mechanical equipment for service stations, commercial fueling facilities and related work. • Communicate with Service Dispatcher via phone, email, etc., to supply necessary paperwork and updates. • To maintain current training and certifications as necessary. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Essential Job Duties Prepare work site to locate utilities and eliminate possible hazards. Signal operators to help facilitate movement or alignment of equipment. Load, unload and transport construction materials and tools Configure pipe routes. Assemble gas piping and equipment. Follow safety standards throughout process, including while digging trenches, sliding pipe into trenches, grading trenches, and sealing joints. Ensure pipes are fitted and aligned using grade rods or transit levels. Cover pipes or cable with dirt or other material. Perform other duties as assigned.
