Construction Laborer This is a full-time temporary position for construction laborers. The position requires physical labor at various sites and may involve operating hand and power tools. Lifting up to 50 pounds 40 hours per week; work Mon-Fri, extended hours and weekends when necessary. The employer will provide all required tools, supplies and equipment to perform the job. Diver

GARNEY CONSTRUCTION Garney is looking for a Diver in Nashville TN. The Diver will be responsible for assembling projects underwater, such as diffusers for power plants, and installing pipes or intakes for water plants. The Diver will work under the guidance of senior divers and supervisors, contributing to underwater construction, inspections, and other marine infrastructure projects. When not diving, the diver will assist with topside operations. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING • Dive for purposes of building the project, inland dives only. • Implements projects for diffusers, intakes, towers, and inspections all underwater. • Collaborate with dive teams, assisting senior divers and supervisors in executing complex projects. • Follow all safety guidelines, participate in pre-dive safety checks, and actively monitor safety conditions during operations. • Lifts, carries, and holds building materials, tools, and supplies. • Cleans tools, equipment, and work areas. Maintains and prepares diving equipment, ensuring all gear is safe and operational. • Underwater burning/cutting experience required • Be prepared to assist in emergency situations, including first aid or rescue support. • Engage in ongoing training and skill development. • Additional duties may require in person or online training for safety, quality, or other functions related to the job. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR • 2-6 years of commercial diving experience with proven ability to perform diverse underwater tasks. • Proficient in underwater construction tools and equipment • Ability to identify and address issues during dive operatins. • Mechanically inclined • Team Player • Attention to detail • Adaptable. • Must be a Certified Diver- Surface Supplied Air Card • Must be ADCI cerified. Posting closes on 12/16/2025 Under general supervision, this position performs inspection of contractors' work, including documentation of contractors' work, entry-level survey duties, assisting with the staking and layout of highway construction and performing basic tests of materials. Examples of Work The following examples are intended only as illustrations of various types of work performed. No attempt is made to be exhaustive. Related, similar, or other logical duties are performed as assigned. The Department may require employees to perform functions beyond those contained in job descriptions. The Department may modify job descriptions based on Department needs. The Arkansas Department of Transportation is an "at will" employer. • Assist in transporting tools and equipment to work sites and assisting in obtaining survey information necessary for agency projects by performing miscellaneous survey duties. • Assist in maintaining surveying equipment. • Utilize various hand tools such as a sledgehammer, axe, shovel, etc. to locate and place markers, survey pins and boundary markers and cutting brush or to obtain material samples. • Assist in performing materials tests for specification compliance. • Perform inspection of construction activities to ensure projects meet department standards and keep supervisor fully informed of daily contractor activities and unusual conditions. • Document contractors' work via SiteManager or other electronic inspection software in accordance with Department policy. • Employee is required to frequently drive a Department vehicle to various locations within the District. Minimum Requirements Education and experience: The educational equivalent to a diploma from an accredited high school. Knowledge, skills and abilities: Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, use of fractions and decimals, computation of areas). Basic computer skills (operation of a PC and familiarity with Windows operating system). Physical requirements: Ability to use various types of hand tools. Ability to traverse rugged terrain, climb up and down hills and grades as well as in and out of vehicles. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Working conditions: Must travel frequently to various locations within the District. Must be able to perform assigned duties in all types of weather as well as other work conditions, e.g. noise, dust, fumes, etc. Licenses, registrations and certifications: Valid driver's license. ("Accredited" means the educational institution or program is accredited by an accrediting organization recognized either by the United States Department of Education or by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.) This position does not require theoretical and practical application of highly specialized knowledge or a bachelor's degree or higher in the field; thus, this position is not eligible for H-1B visa sponsorship.
