Key Responsibilities: • Lead and manage construction projects, ensuring they are completed according to schedule, budget, and quality standards. • Serve as the primary liaison between project teams, contractors, and other stakeholders, fostering clear communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle. • Make strategic, timely decisions on behalf of the project team to meet company objectives and regulatory requirements. • Collaborate with project managers, planners, engineers, and other departments to organize, prioritize, and coordinate all project activities. • Oversee construction sites to ensure safety protocols are followed and that work complies with industry regulations and project specifications. • Review and approve unit cost sheets, ensuring utility company quality standards are met and maintained throughout the project. • Provide regular updates to senior management on project status, milestones, and potential issues or delays. • Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to ensure the safety, compliance, and quality of work performed. • Attend both internal and external meetings, contributing to discussions about project progress, safety, and resource allocation. • Foster a culture of safety by ensuring all safety regulations and best practices are adhered to on site. • Handle customer communications, incident reporting, and other necessary updates related to project execution. • Oversee material ordering, job package preparation, and other logistical components of the construction process. • Assist with regulatory reporting, ensuring all compliance requirements are met in a timely manner. • Perform other duties as required to support successful project outcomes. Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders, team members, and contractors. • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, ensuring all project components are managed efficiently and on schedule. • Proficiency in using software applications, including computer-based and mobile platforms, such as iPads. • Ability to plan, prioritize, and coordinate project tasks to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality. • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with team members, contractors, and clients. • Knowledge of construction industry standards, safety regulations (including Title 8, NECA standards), and specific utility requirements such as CPUC General Orders 95 (OH) and 128 (UG). • In-depth understanding of utility procedures, electrical work, and construction best practices. • Ability to work independently, make informed decisions, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. • A commitment to maintaining a culture of safety, compliance, and high-quality work on every project. Experience/Education: • 3-5 years of management experience in construction or a similar field, with a focus on overseeing utility-related projects. • At least 5 years of experience working in construction management, preferably in utility or electrical construction environments. • High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred. Licenses/Certifications: • Valid California driver’s license, Class C, with the ability to maintain insurability under company insurance policies. • OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 and CPR/First Aid certifications are preferred. Proposed corrections of safety deviations will be discussed with the General Contractor's Safety Manager and provide support for corrective action implementation. • Issue daily site observation reports for each site inspection. REQUIREMENTS: • Associate's degree in construction management, safety, or occupational health and safety, or a related degree preferred. • 8+ years of full-time on-site experience in construction-specific project health & safety leadership • Certification in field; CHST, ASP/CSP, CIH, PE, or similar registration highly desirable. • Strong knowledge of OSHA General Industry and construction standards. • Strong commitment to safety, including implementing strict Health and Safety protocols. • Completed training and certifications for HAZWOPER, DOT basic Hazmat awareness, OSHA 30-hour construction, confined space entry training, and fall protection/prevention training. • Strong initiative (self-starter), problem-solving and communication skills, and attention to detail and QA/QC. • Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision. • Ability to provide excellent project delivery and client service, quality on project deliverables, and organizational skills. • Ability to organize and coordinate field personnel, subcontractors and vendors.
