The duties of this position will include construction field inspections; their application to various construction activities, equipment, products, and general work zone operations; interpretation of contract plans and specifications; project record keeping and reporting. Or Have a minimum of 20 months (Level I minimum plus 14 additional months) of involvement in highway construction project inspection and related work. Of these 20 months at least 12 months must be full-time experience performing inspection functions on highway construction projects; and up to 8 months may be in full-time experience in a closely related construction field work that involved materials testing, surveying, inspection, and/or management of pavement, structure, or geotechnical work; Or Associate degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or Engineering Management and a minimum of 12 months of full-time experience Requirements • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to and between various work locations as necessary to inspect the ongoing work. • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to interact with project safety supervisors and construction work foremen to assure a safe work zone for work crews and the traveling public alike. Salary Range: $34.00 to $37.00 an hour The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
