Duties • Construct, repair, and restore structures using bricks, tiles, plaster, stone, and other masonry materials with precision and attention to detail. • Mix and apply mortar or concrete for various applications including walls, facades, walkways, patios, and decorative features. • Install rebar reinforcement in concrete forms to provide structural support for large-scale projects. • Operate hand tools such as trowels, chisels, hammers, levels, and measuring devices efficiently and safely. • Utilize power tools including mixers, saws, drills, and grinders to facilitate masonry work. • Perform concrete finishing techniques to achieve smooth surfaces or textured effects as specified in project plans. • Execute specialized tasks such as stucco application, plastering, caulking, tile laying, and trim carpentry to enhance building aesthetics. • Assist in construction estimating by assessing material needs and labor requirements for upcoming projects. • Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople during renovation or restoration projects. • Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a secure work environment on busy construction sites. • Support project managers by adhering to schematics and ensuring work aligns with design specifications. Experience Candidates should possess prior experience working on construction sites with a focus on masonry-related tasks. Proven skills in concrete forming techniques and rebar installation are highly valued. Experience in hardscape design—including patios, walkways, retaining walls—and restoration projects will set candidates apart. Hands-on knowledge of plastering, stucco application, tile laying, caulking techniques, and trim carpentry is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency with hand tools and power tools commonly used in masonry work. Additionally, experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts or cranes is advantageous. A background in construction estimating can be beneficial for understanding project scope and material planning.
