Duties • Preparing construction site each day by preparing materials, tools, and equipment • Perform building and construction work which includes, but is not limited to concrete walls, foundations, and slab, structural steel and metal erection, and general carpentry and finishes • With proper training, operate a variety of hand and power tools, forklifts, skid loaders, and other tools and equipment as directed. • Load and unload construction supplies and equipment. • Shovel materials to and from job site such as dirt, asphalt, etc. • Site cleanup duties • Follows all health and safety regulations when performing work and as otherwise instructed. • Train others on experienced tasks and learn tasks as needed or instructed. • Ensure that equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly and assist with inventory management. • Follow all company work and safety policies and procedures. • Additional duties as assigned. Duties • Planning for, scheduling, tracking, maintaining adequate supervision of, and motivating multiple subcontractors and suppliers for the project assigned. Responsible for scheduling, interfacing, and promoting good relationships with project owners, building officials, architects, engineers, and project service providers. • Responsible for ensuring that all construction activities meet master project schedule milestones by developing, preparing, and maintaining a two-week, short-interval construction activity schedule ensuring relevant parties are kept apprised of all schedule changes on a regular basis. • Responsible for enforcing Jensen Builders work rules and safety policies as they apply to company and its employees in addition to ensuring that subcontractors are held responsible for enforcing these same work rules and safety policies as they relate to their employees, subcontractors, hired labor piece workers, hourly workers, workers by the foot, etc. • Responsible for project quality control and testing agencies. • Timely and profitable completion of assigned projects. • Direct supervision and timely evaluation of assistant site foreman and trainees. • Ensures familiarity with contract documents with assigned site personnel. • Maintains positive working environment for entire site team. • Documents historical information to include daily reports, photos, punch lists, inspections, and safety walks. • Leads punch list efforts with documentation housed within project management software. • Performs preconstruction plan reviews and creates project constructability logs. • Attends all superintendent meetings, required corporate meetings, training programs, and seminars. • Additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications • Minimum five years of project superintendent experience on projects ranging from $500,000 to $15 million, including restaurant, retail, bank, health care, multifamily, and remodel projects. • Bachelor's degree in construction management, construction engineering or equivalent experience required. • Proficient with MS Project scheduling software • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial building construction activities • Strong knowledge of OSHA, federal, state, municipal and project-specific safety regulations OSHA 30 hour certified preferred. • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret plans, specifications and shop drawings. • Ability to work well with diverse groups of people and interact professionally with all parties associated with project. • Ability to supervise and manage on-site personnel and provide a positive work environment, growth, training, be able to self-perform work as needed. • Working knowledge of material control • Working knowledge of all construction trades, including surveying and engineering procedures Must possess a valid driver's license and must be bondable. Preferred Qualifications • Carpentry background • Be competent at construction math. • Valid Driver’s License Behavioral and Physical Function Requirements The Construction Worker will work in conditions of repetitive movement, bending and twisting, climbing, using hands to lift, push, pull, carry, handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The Construction Worker lifts heavy objects (50+ pounds), walks and stands for long periods of time, and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Must be able to read and follow instructions. Must be able to work harmoniously with others.
