See More Details >>Description Essential Functions: • Dig trenches with equipment and/or tools. • Slide pipe into trenches. • Direct the Operator where to move the pipe to insure the pipe lay correctly in the ground. • Insure spaces are inserted in between pipes. • Cut pipes to required length. • Operate mechanized equipment, such as front-end loaders or backhoes. • Tie pipes into catch basins. • Inspect places where pipes are fitted together to ensure pipes are spaced out properly and according to specifications. • Lay pipe for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains. • Grade trenches or culverts. • Seal pipe joints. • Use glue or welding equipment to ensure pipes are tightly fitted. • Ensure pipes are fitted and aligned using grade rods or transit levels. • Cover pipes with dirt or other material.
