Construction Laborer

Apply Today Job Summary The Construction Laborer performs general laborer duties at various residential, commercial, industrial, and/or civil job site locations, including organizing materials, clean-up duties, and assisting the carpenters. This position works under the direct supervision of the Foreman. Qualification Requirements • Previous construction experience preferred, with a basic understanding of the construction process. • Valid driver's license and/or reliable means of transportation to job site locations. • Must provide own basic hand tools. • Employer provides specialty tools and equipment. • Must be able to interpret and apply verbal and/or written instructions in English. Essential Job Functions • Obtains daily work instructions and determines work to be done. • Retrieves supplies and materials for the Carpenters. • Assists with performing concrete work set up and disassembly. • Cuts framing materials and other materials using saws. • Grades lumber. • Keeps all materials on the project organized. • Assists in framing duties. • Safely sets up staging, scaffolding, and ladders. • Assists with prepping and sanding materials for staining/painting. • Maintains and cleans all power tools, hand tools, and other equipment. • Keeps job site trailers and supplies organized. • Loads and unloads materials and supplies from trucks/trailers at job sites. • Packs materials to specific areas at the construction site as needed. • Performs housekeeping and keeps work area clean throughout the project and removes trash and debris. Will shovel, sweep, and pick up materials by hand. Non-Essential Job Functions • Operates forklift to move materials only if forklift trained/certified. • May drive a company vehicle to run errands or pick up supplies as needed. • Performs other duties as needed. Physical Demand Classification • Construction Laborer is a Heavy Duty job, according to the Selected Characteristics of Occupations Defined in the Revised Dictionary of Occupational Titles, U.S. Department of Labor and Industry.
