MACHINIST 1 - B Shift - Mill Turn

As a Machinist 1 you will be responsible for the functions outlined below: Essential Functions • Responsible for demonstrating commitment to and leadership of environmental health and safety principles, policies and procedures. • Conforms to and operates within the framework of all applicable operator work instructions, SOPs, quality, and safety procedures. • Maintain proper housekeeping of work area; Keep all machines, tools, and equipment and work surfaces free of oil, grease, etc. • This job is mainly one of maintaining cell productivity by troubleshooting production problems and performing proven setups under the guidance of Manufacturing Engineer and/or Supervisor as well as a willingness to operate machinery as necessary. • Proficient at the operation of all machines and processes in Cell. • Make offsets to tools to produce good parts. • Preset tools as needed; calibrate probes and tool setter. • Actively contribute to process improvement in assigned areas • Inspect parts fully after a tool or program change. • Clear and correct common machine alarms including Automatic Tool Changer alarms. • Troubleshoot machine issues affecting part production or quality. • Assist and monitor process flow to meet production requirements set by Cell Supervisor. • Perform repetitive inspection of parts using precision instruments such as micrometers, height gages, calipers and indicators. • Assist with training machine operators in the performance of their assigned duties. • Reports to a Cell Supervisor or other production manager. • Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. • Participates in the company's efforts to continuously improve in Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery and Productivity. • Expected to be a contributor to the company standards on high integrity, safety, fair and equitable treatment and a positive work environment. • Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate or necessary by management. Knowledge Skills And Abilities • High school diploma with typically 2-4 yearsof prior manufacturing experience or a combination of related experience, education and/or training to sufficiently and successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Two-year technical degree or approved apprenticeship in related coursework (i.e. computer numeric control mill or lathe) is a plus. • Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. • Works within established procedures associated with the specific job function under immediate supervision. • Has knowledge of 5S and lean concepts and ability to help move forward with achieving department goals. • Has knowledge of metalworking tools, workholding and other common concepts, practices and procedures within the field. • Teamwork and the ability to cooperate and work proactively with others is a must. • Working knowledge of GD&T, machine tool programming languages (G & M codes) and blueprint reading. • Must be able to interpret machine tool programming languages (such as G & M codes) to anticipate machine action, to use "Distance to Go", and to use feed rate and spindle speed overrides to perform troubleshooting and changeovers. • Know how to identify which tools create which features in a given process. • Ability to identify source of visual or dimensional defects and correct them. • Know how to properly assemble tooling for a specific purpose. • How to align center-cutting tools to a part feature. • Understand the basics of workholding and tool clamping. • Align workholding or adjust work coordinates for proper machine function. • How to use a test indicator to align work machine axes within acceptable limits. • Understanding of basic programming strategies. • Be able to recognize when something is wrong with a process or product and troubleshoot. • Must be able to manage time efficiently. • Great attention to detail and excellent record keeping skills. • Self-motivated; willing to put in extra effort and hours as needed. • Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills. • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and work under deadlines and pressure. • Demonstrated ability to recognize and work with our Permission to Play Values. • It is understood employees may be assigned to other departments, functional groups, and/or shifts as deemed necessary by management Physical Requirements • Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds. • Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting and bending throughout the work day. • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, to include working in and around machinery, exposure to noise and chemicals, lights/lasers, etc. • Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment as required by your position and/or Company policy. CNC Machinist - 2nd Shift

Full-time positions available: (40 hours a week) Second Shift - Monday-Thursday (4:15pm-2:45am) Requirements/Responsibilities: • Must have proven skillset to set up and operate. • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to understand the rotation of fixtures. • Must be versed in Rotary or Indexing capability as the application applies to the Horizontal and Vertical Machines. • Employee will need to understand the A, B and X, Y, Z axis on all machines. • Optimize the process to achieve maximum efficiency. • Receive daily instructions from Shop Floor Supervisor. • Check parts to ensure they meet blueprint specifications using proper gauges. • Perform daily point checks on machine and report concerns to Shop Floor Supervisor. (Noted leaks, noises, functionality) • Use proper feed and speed for maximum efficiency. • Deburr as required for work in process. • Train new hires or apprentices as requested. • Follows all safety policies and procedures. • Meets departmental/company goals and objectives in a timely manner. (Such as; Efficiencies, Scrap control, Time motion and Setup time reductions.) • Arrives to work on time and as scheduled. • Interpretation of drawings, sketches, and/or working to set up sheets and verbal instructions. • Adapting shop practice, methods, and techniques to fit each new situation and properly sequencing machining operations. • Performing cutting, turning, drilling, boring, reaming, tapping, and finishing operations where tolerances range from 0.030 to 0.0003 inch. This includes setup of machine and fixtures for any of the various operations while working with such materials as steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, magnesium alloys, plastics, and exotic aerospace metals. • Use of scales, calipers, internal and external micrometers, height gauges, surface gauge, and dividers to determine that the part is being machined to the proper configuration. • Must have proficient math skills. Qualifications: • High School Diploma or GED. Or a four-year apprenticeship program. • Must own tools for daily tasks (i.e. micrometers, indicators, edge finders, etc.) • Five years’ experience either in a production or job shop environment. • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints/engineering drawings and work order instructions. • Must be able to take verbal and written instructions. • Demonstrated effective verbal, written, and communication skills. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Lift up to 60lbs, pushing, pulling, standing for long periods of time, manual dexterity, visual acuity. Job Description: Mars Wrigley - Gainesville, GA Title: Machine Operator Pay: $24.88/hr + shift differential What do we Manufacture? Actively Hiring for 12 Hour Night Shift: 5pm- 5:30am This schedule restarts every 2 weeks. Week 1: You work Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. You are off Wednesday and Thursday. Job Purpose The Machine Operator is responsible for operating state-of-the-art high-speed wrapping machinery. What are we looking for? Minimum Requirements: • High School Diploma or GED • 2+ years of experience operating high speed machinery and/or equipment in a manufacturing, production or warehouse environment. • Understanding of computer systems (Ex: MS Office, inventory systems, SAP, etc) Physical Requirements: • Frequent lifting/carrying pushing (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs) • Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping. • Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, leaning over equipment and work in confined spaces. • Ability to stand and/or work on feet for extended periods (minimum eight hours in one shift). • Ability to understand, communicate, read, and write basic work-related English. Preferred Qualifications: • Technical degree or certifications • 3+ years’ experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment • Ability to keep accurate inventory records. • Strong understanding of all GMP’s, PPE’s and quality checks What will be your Key Responsibilities? • Supply the wrapping machine with the appropriate finished product and wrapping materials to keep the machine running with minimal material waste. • Meet the productivity requirements daily while keeping hourly count reports of production, downtime and waste amounts. • Perform quality assurance checks throughout shift (e.g., inspect for packaging & material defects & ensure gum quality) • Troubleshoot machine breakdowns, clean machine jams & align rolls of wrapping materials to minimize downtime and promote productivity. • Perform periodic Autonomous Maintenance (5S, clean, inspect and lubricate, maintain centerlines & address abnormalities) activities to ensure it performs at peak efficiency. • Perform general housekeeping duties around the machine (e.g., sweeping floors, cleaning machine parts, supply tables, gum tables, etc.) • Provide occasional backup for Material Supply-Gum and any other ad hoc tasks when needed.
