Plant 81 | Machinist IV | Shift 1

Job Title Plant 81 | Machinist IV | Shift 1 Position Overview Position Objective: Fabricate, repair, replace, and/or modify parts and equipment used in manufacturing Essential Duties: • Must have superior skill and experience in running the following: CNC equipment, lathe, mill, surface grinder, mig and tig welder, radial drill, metal saw, band saw, and drill presses • Read and understand measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and steel tape with extreme accuracy. • Read and understand mechanical drawings • Be able to distinguish between different types of metals and know which type to use for each application • Interpret mechanical situations to determine proper course of action and materials needed to accomplish a task • Must be able to determine proper machining methods and setups to run all types of materials • Work with supervisor and department manager to develop new machinery • Develop ideas and recommend improvements to increase productivity within the department • Assist Machinists I, II, and III in running equipment as directed by supervisor • Have all tools requested by the supervisor • Perform preventative maintenance as assigned • Maintain a high degree of workmanship and efficiency • Keep work area clean and free of hazards • Know and adhere to all safety policies, rules and regulations • Adhere to normal schedule for starting and stopping unless otherwise directed by supervisor and department manager • On call for machinery downtime during and after working hours at the direction of supervisor and department manager • Work seven days when required Non-Essential Duties: • Perform all other related job duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor or • department manager • Perform general housekeeping as assigned Education: • Must have a High School Diploma or GED Physical Requirements: • Must have good eyesight • Must have good manual dexterity and coordination • Must be able to lift up to 70lbs • Must be able to stand 40%, walk 40%, sit 10%, and bend 10% for up to 12 hours per day • Must be able to safely use all power tools and equipment in machine shop Other Requirements: • Must demonstrate superior skills using machining equipment, fabrication, and other shop equipment • Must be mechanically inclined Work Shift 8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM Shaw Industries is an equal opportunity employer as to all protected groups, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities.

Requirements: • Solid understanding of mechanical systems and machine operations. • Experience using precision measuring tools. • Ability to interpret and meet production specifications and quality standards. • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. • Effective communication and teamwork abilities. • Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced environment. • Must be able to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
